Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
Any presale for Jimmy Eat World other than a 3 mobile network one?
They are playing Download Festival 3 days after Dublin, but still room to add a second night in Dublin.
It was absolutely superb. Albert Bouchard was back for the 'Agents of Fortune' stuff which they played in full and then a career spanning set.
Despite being their only ever show here and a very healthy crowd it wasn't an official sell out iirc.
Wild to think the €45 price point I think it was for it was deemed too much to put some people off. Luckily in the Aftermath they delivered the moneys worth for sure.
Any idea of prices for Jimmy Eat World?
Would they have the pull for two nights, they've only ever done one Dublin show on most tours
from €40.70 plus TM fees et.
How does the artist presale work for this - there's no obvious sign up pn their website?
they have a mailing list sign up on their website.
Doh I completely missed that. Cheers.
Ffs June strikes again but I can't miss this
I'm off to see that Radiohead Hamlet play on the 7th in England and back on the 10th, I'll try and make it anyway be hard to pass on this gig
Trying to offload a ticket to Supergrass in May. One gig has to go
Stereophonics on 6th, Iggy Pop 7th and hopefully Jimmy Eat World on the 10th. Awesome few days of gigs
Yeah I think I honestly went to 30-40 gigs last year and I've tried to half that this year but it's getting tough haha,
Off to see Manson in Amsterdam end of Feb and Jack White March 1st, Junes always been a mental month I've GnR, Linkin Park and Deftones across one weekend, if I can add NiN to that now tomorrow I'll be a happy camper,
My bloody Valentine and Nine inch nails in the one year now is good going
Getting to the stage where it's the latest possible Bus/Train up to Dublin as its getting so expensive
All our chatter about a 5k venue and the response from some that there wasn’t the demand nor viability. Tell that to the Oak View Group.
there is a whole thread on that proposal. a developer group having a meeting with a government minister is indicative of nothing. you might as well put in as much faith in that proposal as any one of Harry crosbie’s proposals he throws out every year. if a 5k venue is viable it would of been built already. and as others said in the proposal thread, the 3 arena is barely kept busy with 80 shows a year, there is no little to no need for a competing venue of 20k in Dublin or ireland for that matter
Utter bollocks that it "would have been built already" if it was viable. Plenty of reasons it hasn't been built already despite how useful it would be and Live Nations grip on our market is up there.
I guess you didn’t read the article. The US company that has just built the biggest indoor venue in Europe (Co-Op Manchester) has hired Q4PR and stated that it intends to build in Dublin. Not one government minister in attendance but two, and at the time those with the significant posts of Finance and Justice. The former being the deputy leader of FF. Add in the heads of Dublin City and Fingal Councils alongside other interested parties and they were all obviously there only for the canapés.
However, if you say it’s a no-goer then it’s clear then we’re just going to have to trust you on that.
live nation would of been the first to build it if it made sense as it enhance their monopoly position in the Irish market and they could hamper and take all those 5k acts from underneath other promoters who wouldn’t be able offer a comparable fee or venue. If such a venue was good for 100 nights a year it would have been built by now. Truth is such a venue is an enormous financial gamble and a solid business case never made sense to those with the money and power to build it.
Gregory Alan Isakov playing the Olympia on 19th and 20th October.
Yep, we’re just going to have to inform Oak View Group that they lack the expertise and judgement to make such a move.
That guy is joining 'The Killers and Chic irish gigs club' soon
I’m sure they similar meetings with representatives across every country and major city in europe as part of their expansion plans. They haven’t even bought land here for such an a proposal. Nothing more than a fishing exercise
central cee playing 3 arena April 22nd
Viagra Boys was various presales on the same day and the general later on the same date. Thought it was odd. Same time makes no sense to me.
Question re three presales. If I got a code from a three customer is that all I need to log into the presale or do they need to buy the tickets?
Code is all you need, make sure you go through the links below and not the main Ticketmaster page
https://shops.ticketmasterpartners.com/3plus
https://shops.ticketmasterpartners.com/3olympia
Ah thank you for that! I wouldn't have realised about the links. Thank you!
Think they should of put Jimmy Eat World in Trinity co headlining with Weezer
It would definitely shift some tickets
the weezer show is €85 as is, adding a band like Jimmy eat world would only raise it to €100
