Has anyone come across this error code on Amarok 2 ltr diesel . Jeep won’t start glow plug light flashing and asking to be put into P/N . I have done all that and still no joy of starting . Please help 🤯

This is a problem with the gear shift selector or the mechantronics unit on the gearbox usually, need to do further testing to confirm which.
The car has to be in either neutral or park to start and it doesn't think it is so it won't start for safety reasons
ok thanks . When I do have it in P or N it does say on dash that it’s in those ones . Is this a big cost fix do you know ?
It can be depeing on where the problem is, I think the gear selector was €850 the last time I got one mechantronics are many thousands but they can normally be repaired
would you advise me to get the jeep to a mechanic or an auto electrician? All the gears moved smoothly and didn’t notice any strange sounds . Jeep just flashed glow plug light and wouldn’t start up from there ☹️
Gearbox specialist would be best
