    lively enough gusts here in Meath with on/off squally showers ,it was heavy sleeting rain earlier about 10.00pm the temperature dropped to 2.5c

    Well I'm not quite elderly yet but it's just me here.on my own in Achill (plus oblivious cat) and yes Midwest is helping a lot.

    Lights flickering here in Wexford too, the south coast is getting their worst winds around now and for next couple of hours, switching to the west coasts for the really extreme stuff afterwards, Stay safe and candlelit everyone!

    Not a single flight in the air worldwide heading for an Irish airport. This only ever occurs Christmas day and during severe weather events like this.

    South Meath here and the wind is very strong already with lots of gusts rattling things.. worst not even near us yet,but this sounds worse than previous storms already 😟

    Wind picking up here 4 mls South of Malin Head. My guess is current gusts of 50/60kmph.

    Good healthy winds in North Wexford, wouldn't want to be out in it, but def feel like there is more to come.

    Just been outside, relatively calm on the ground but the lower clouds are sculling past very fast and there is a complete blackness to the south west. West Roscommon. Calm before the storm.

    Dirty wet night picking up here in the Derry or Londonderry place. I replaced leaky shed roof screws with spouting bolts n nuts there other day in anticipation of this downpour. Just braved a windy rain to check. All dry so far arrrf

    Can hear all the ringing and clanging from all the metal in the pylons etc. makes it sound like a horror movie. Limerick City
