Which currency and where are you? Nobody can answer this question without that.

And how much do you need.

Swedish Krona. I see no1currency website ordering online takes 3-5 working days for collection.

I’m wondering if anyone knows of a site that guarantees a shorter turn around time… or if they know that it’s worth calling into directly? I see there is one in Tallaght.

Ring a couple of bank branches that would be busy and see if they have it on hand. If it's really urgent for a smaller amount a trip to the airport bureau de change would do.

You can get Swedish Krona on a currency card from An Post but not cash. If you are a member of a credit union they might be able to facilitate you and they may also open on Saturday. The Post Office is opened on Saturday morning.

Quickest way is not to get it at all. Just use debit card, credit card, google pay, apple pay, revolut, contactless payment - any form of electonic payment rather than cash.

If you have the likes of Revolut, the quickest way is to convert some in advance in the app (or not, both works), then assuming you will arrive in country, you can withdraw from ATM upon arrival. Obviously amounts matter (which you didn't specify) as there would be fees/charges when you reached certain limits.

Fly to the country and make a withdrawal at an ATM.

For what purpose do you need the money and where? For a travel amount you could probably get it at the airport or simply draw it from an ATM after arriving in Sweden. If it is a large amount for some other purpose you may run into MLA restrictions.

It’s for a older person that prefers to have a bit of cash on them and rarely uses card transactions anyway

I've been to Sweden a couple of times. It's common enough over there to see cash not accepted signs at the tills in shops. Retailers seem to have a preference for electronic payments.

They will have a damn hard time spending it when they get there, country is basically cashless.

Fexco Westmoreland Street or any of the main city centre bank branches in Dublin / Cork might have some to hand, but its an exceptionally low demand currency due to said cashlessness.

There's a good chance theyre wont be any banks or any other places that might have Krona open tommorow then your into the weekend.

Well for a small amount like that, if all else fails I'd say just hop out to the airport, you should get there no problem.

Is this someone who lives in Sweden or a person who will be accompanying you on the trip and you want to give them some spending money?

If it's a person who lives there then I'd give them cash if that's what they prefer. The most expensive way to do this will be to buy SEK in the airport or a high st. Bureau du Change. The best way will be to convert Euros to SEK in your Revolut account. Do this during Mon-Fri and you'll pretty much get the interbank rate. Then use your Revolut card to withdraw cash at an ATM when you get there. Convert enough money to cover the purchases that you will make using your credit card in restaurants etc. while you're there and you will save on the CC FX surcharge by using your Revolut card.

If you don't have a Revolut account, I'd just use my regular Irish debit card to withdraw cash from an ATM machine when you get there. Buying currency across the counter anywhere will be more expensive.

    Fast.

    Cheap

    Effective / fit-for-purpose.

    Pick any two.

If this person cannot learn to do card transactions, they should most probably not be travelling alone. If they can learn - problem solved.

I’ve got a small amount of Swedish krona 310. I’m in Drumcondra if that suits?
