251DL35, post up what you have seen 251 wise
Given a splurge in 251 buys in January and their trade-ins generating further sales (as folk further down the food chain upgrade to those trade in's) ..
How long would it take for someone like me (bottom feeder, buying 2015 era cars) to see motors trickle onto the forecourt as a result of 251 January sales?
Is it pretty quick or does it take a month or two
Pretty quick, but anything a bit older like that would likely need more prep, tidying up, etc. And many main dealers won’t retail stuff older than 5/6 years, they’ll sell it on to the smaller indie dealers.

My brother traded in a 2016 car against a Leon 251 collected it on about 10th Jan and his old car is up for sale in another dealer in another part of the country already. Very quick because it needs a heap of work.
If you're waiting for a glut of supply and a bargain I don't think there's any timing strategy that will work with regards to 251 trade ins, just keep an eye out for something well priced you like.

I still have not seen the new Landcruiser on the road. Maybe because it is too expensive at 100K+?? Fantastic car still if I had the twine I’d be buying it.
First deliveries March, I presume majority sold in Ireland are commercial, it’s a lot more reasonable at 70k if you’re a business buyer. Not meant to be great on the road so probably not suited to most people anyway. Looks very cool though!
Zero wrong with the new Landcruiser on the road for all the other stuff it can do.

The range was 600km when I sat in to it. Drives lovely and serious power.
it’s a 205hp diesel, not great reviews for what it is, and costs €148k with just a colour option for the passenger version.
They're a work horse, anyone that would buy one as a passenger vehicle would need their head examined.
That’s the Irish governments fault, not Toyotas. And I’ve driven it extensively and it’s perfectly fine on public roads.

It’s not about being a good or bad vehicle - Who will buy it Mark, what’s the market? - farmers won’t, passenger-car buyers already have their Defenders with the murdered-out looks and big wheels, so that leaves maybe tradesmen? - but they’ve gone back to expensive vans

agriculture and equestrian kinds I guess. Not disputing the price increase it’s just far, far less choppy on the road than the majority of vehicles that can do all the off road stuff.

Saw a black Porche Macan 251D today, had to look it up, hadn't heard of a Macan.
Possibly the EV version if 251.
Not sure if EV, definitely 251D though, only saw back of it, uusually easier to determine if EV from a front view, no grill necessary in tge EV's.
Saw a 251 D Toyota Yaris Hybrid earlier. Didn’t get the colour as it was dark outside.
What's the craic with the tax on these Ferrari and Rolls Royce prices on landcruisers? Tax must make up more than half of the price does it?
lol, well, I'd also eliminate carbon taxes, lift the ban Ryan implemented on licensing for drilling for Irish oil and gas. Get Ireland out of the paris climate agreement.
An interesting aside - as someone who grew up farming, and lives in the middle of some of the biggest beef/tillage/contractor farming businesses in the country, the most common new jeep by far and away is a Ford ranger - it’s the new Navara - albeit the bed weight capacity isn’t as useful as the Navara - my brother says “you can’t even put a wrapped silage bale in it” 😀.
Farmers never bought the base commercial defender on steel wheels - i doubt they’ll be buying this either.
Landcruisers are more of a dairy farmers outfit 😅
