Following on from main thread in Current Affairs about Tubs in general (now closed and mod suggestion that Entertainment category is more suitable).
Indeed, entertainment in certain respects is what Tubs has provided, albeit perhaps in a way not intended. And still awaiting 150k payback to the licence fee holder.
And of course, his new career in Virgin Radio which is imminent.

^ Does he have toilet paper stuck to his right shoe?
All freebies that he gets sent from the publicists. I remain convinced he doesn’t read them - if you look at the spines of the paperbacks you’ll see they’re never creased. If you read a paperback it will show signs on said spine of being read through cracking and creasing. Looking forward to the comments though from his adoringly deliciously deluded fans.
Such a coincidence that someone happens to be there to take a snap when Tubs starts reading a book.
He’s definitely been told to curtail the pointing:
Another completely staged pic. To quote Mr. T “I pity the fool” who had to take this. If he was getting his hair/make-up done he’d have a couple of minutes max to read a couple of pages….that’s not how “readers” read….1 page here, 2 pages there….who does he think he’s fooling? And then the chair positioned like it is, just conveniently turned around from its natural position facing the mirror etc. and perfectly so that the person taking the pic just happened to catch him like this. 🙄 It’s all so utterly fake and false.
O'Connor books aren't really "dip in and read a few pages" either.
Does remind me I need to go buy that one. Not in Eason.
He’s definitely been told to curtail the pointing.
I was scrolling up, and saw the photo before I saw your comment. I was about to say the very same. 😁
"The lyricism of his writing is sublime".
Its like Sh1tGPT, throw a few words in there to try and sound smart. Im sure the tone was haberdashery and the theme unequivocal as well...
jaysis the NK hype machine is out in full today bigging up Garrihy’s return to 2FM (yes). Garrihy’s Instagram makes Tubridy’s look like the postings of a man with no ego and mountains of self-awareness. Everything is a junket or a freebie, including a Renault car…..you’d have thought they’d have learnt from the Tubridy fiasco but apparently not. 🤷♂️
does anyone buy Renault cars or do they just get them gifted? How does the company make any money?
"does anyone buy Renault cars………….?"
Yes.
“Write me a couple of lines for an Instagram post describing the writing style of the author of a book I haven’t read, but make it sound arty and intellectual for my delicious fans.”
meant ta do a bit of delicious hate listening today. wonder did he cover the storm and connemara and the hotel… sorry castle you know the one where you have to put up with that knob in the jacks
Why is he allow do a nazi salute? Why is there no books in the bag? Why is he sitting on a desk chair in the middle of an office and not at a desk? Who sits in the middle of the office and places a schoolbag beside them with no books in it.?
Is that a recent photo? If so, why is he wearing a mask?
It's a disguise so he doesn't get mauled by his legion of fans obviously!!
I believe it was included in the gift pack.
I would reserve judgement as he looks like could be under the effect of a hypnotist or a regressionist.
I think it's from the time of Biden's inauguration.
At least it wasn't from the other evening when Mr Musk did that "Roman salute"
Nay, it’s from Presidents’ Day (as it says in the caption) 2021, when we still in the midst of Covid.
Presidents’ Day is celebrated on the 3rd Monday of February each year, and is a relatively big national holiday stateside….though in my experience it seems for many to be just another big retail sales day like Memorial Day, Black Friday, etc.
I’m not quite sure what the purpose of an embassy sending out gimmicky gift packs like these to “celebrities” is though. It’s all a bit too “influencer-y” and hardly worthy of any political office.
Is Kathryn Thomas another part of the incestous NK family? I'm guessing so. Why otherwise would she gush about her new show "alongside Ryan" ("it's great!!).
Christ, I can't blame the sinking ship that is NK Media. It's the "news outlets" that can't help themselves publishing this guff in the hope for clicks.
It's beyond pathetic.
Of course she is. Did you really need to ask?
"She and her husband Padraig share daughters Ellie, 6, and Grace, 3, and being away from them before school was a huge factor for the host when taking the job."
What a weird way to phrase that. Of course they share daughters.
It's not necessarily odd now what we have so many blended families.
It actually made me wonder are they still together? I don’t know, nor do I particularly care btw.
The article is straight out of the NK playbook though, one NK “star” talking about something and dropping in the name of another stablemate.
The article also features a link to yet another Katherine Thomas article - this time her “stunning” getaway. Knowing NK this stunning getaway was probably gifted/liked for a few Instagram posts and the virtuous circle (jerk) continues. Lottie Ryan was notorious for this before she jumped ship - barely a month went by without her posting of her “stunning and much needed getaway to Fota Island”, or her “stunning and well-deserved break at Dromoland Castle” or her “stunning and long-overdue breakaway to Glenlo Abbey” (can you spot the recurring theme and verbiage?) . Lottie would then post pics of her having a bottle of Champagne and chocolates in her room on arrival (thanks to the wonderful staff @AdareManor for this surprise gift! xoxo), or her relaxing in a stunning bathrobe on her way to the spa @LoughEske, or walking into the stunning private dining room @AshfordCastle where Executive Head Chef Cheffy McChef prepared a delicious and stunning meal for us - available by pre-booking @AshfordCastle using this exclusive discount code “NKM”.
These were most often accompanied by “thanks to Audi Ireland for supplying us with a courtesy Q7 this break, it really is a wonderful car for family trips and available from just €69,999 at your local dealer or at audi.ie” -type spiels.
This insanely vacuous “guff” would be all over her Instagram, occasionally in the papers and women’s magazines (I’ve read them waiting in Doctor’s waiting rooms, at home when my other half buys them etc.) AND occasionally she’d oh so casually slip it into conversation on radio. “Jen, did I tell you I was in Ashford Castle recently. Omg! It was soooooooo good, the staff were soooooo nice and everything just exuded fabulosity! We should go - Girls Trip!!!!! We could have massages in the stunning spa, enjoy bubbles in the jacuzzi, and then dine in the restaurant or have nibbles in the stunning and recently refurbished bar. Yay!”
Thomas is equally as bad btw.
They’re literally in the first couple of posts on her page. I honestly don’t think there’s anything NKM Clients won’t promote.
This type of thing doesn't help your status and its a pity that Katherine Thomas doesn't see this.
She at least has been around for the last 25 odd years in various forms. The Grip, No Frontiers, Op Trans and The Voice.
And we certainly know she was potential one of those top earners at one point in her career but was saved due to working on Independent programmes (RTÉ Radio Stand in, The Voice, Operation Transformation and Ireland Fittest Family, in one year alone).
I certainly hope in Mark Cunning's case that the first photo does not end up being a description of her new radio show and the second one being a reflection of interest and interaction with the stations listeners.
Is anyone actually going to buy a Peugeot just because Kathryn Thomas is their ambassador?
I'm over 40, so old enough to know the whole 'influencer" thing is a sham anyway. They only "love" a product or service because they're paid to say it (I predict Doireann Garrihy will start promoting a prostate-healing smoothie on her socials shortly because she will plug anything.) I just don't see how someone would think "Time to upgrade the car. Because Kathryn Thomas likes Peugeots, I better get one too."
On the other hand, I can see how having a certain brand ambassador (e.g., McGregor) can do the opposite and drive away customers.
