Hoping a New Thread may fix the posting issues.
Is there not extra prize money for 1st?
Nice, low key night. Easy, no injuries (Jones aside) and no sweats. Would have liked to see Mo rested, but hey, trust the medics I guess.
Just the difference between winning a league game and drawing
A bit of snooze fest, but exactly what was required. Should have probably had another 3 without breaking sweat.
Very promising cameo from Chiesa, Slot said today he needs another few appearances off the bench before he's ready for action. Hope we get to see more of him next Wednesday. Even better if we can get a few early ones on Saturday and give him 20 minutes in the 2nd half.
Let’s not too carried away with expectations for Saturday . Talk of getting a few early goals in many of past home games recently and we instead go 0-1 down and high stress levels. 3 points and no injuries I’ll be delighted !
Brilliant funny sum-up from Gary Breen on Premier Sports co-coms displaying his knowledge of Barry Manilow's lyrics for "Oh Mandy"!
Oh Mandi,
You came and you gave ( a foul) without taking (the ball),
The ref sent you away!
For the PSV game I'd love Danns to get a run, play Morton as well. It's a totally meaningless game with literally nothing at stake
Yep. Few lads should know now they've the couple of days off.
Just back from the game. Happy with the result. Up the Reds!
crap game, crap atmosphere, flukey goal, learned nothing
But, top of the league and another win so let’s move on and never talk about that game again
Of course I'd accept that too. But I'd also love us to get some goals. I go into most game hoping for that outcome.
Apparently 1st place gets €25M. Not sure about 2nd. Buy you can be sure the club would like that money.
Hadn't read that anywhere? Are you sure
Edit: Think you are talking about winning the competition!
Yeah winners of champs league get €25m is my understanding.
I think I read it goes up €275,000 for each position in league, so the team finishing 36th gets €275,000 & 35th gets double that & so on, but not certain on that
Nice goal from Ben Doak for 'Boro tonight.
It's €2m for finishing in the top 8 so just the win/draw prize money to be played for in the final game - http://web.archive.org/web/20240328091952/https://editorial.uefa.com/resources/028b-1a7880138a24-7a993e2e33d1-1000/20240322_circular_2024_13_en.pdf
Calum Scanlon fired in an early goal for Millwall against Cardiff last night. It was only his second start since recovering from the stress fracture in his back that he suffered in his first appearance last September. Hopefully he'll stay injury free and have a good loan experience now, he could prove to be a good understudy for the left back position next season.
Chiesa could be a serious weapon for the run in, he looks really sharp.
Great to see Salah's mini goal drought over.
The XG conversion is a worry at the moment, by far the highest XG creation but not taking nearly enough of them. Hopefully a blip, if they can keep up the same rate of XG chances and increase the conversion rate things would be much more comfortable , in either case still an outstanding season to date
Im a bit bemused by the lack of hype around him (say Vs Danns) when he has been ripping it up for Scotland and in the Championship.
Almost like there is a resignation to him leaving.
I really hope Slott gives a chance to the likes of Doak, Danns, Stefan next season. If we lose the 3 big stars in the summer I hope the rebuild includes some young talent. Elliott in particular, would be a shocking decision to sell him, would need to spend 60m to find a player with his quality imo.
I think it's more so just:
I'm not sure either will ever "make it" at Liverpool but I'd be disappointed to see either leaving the club within the next year or two.
Anyway the real forgotten man is Stefan Bajcetic, barely a word on him all season.
Would imagine he gets sold in the summer..with Grav, Szob, Jones, Mac and how little we rotate in midfield I cant see him coming back in

As it stands Salah has the exact same amount of PL (175) and UCL (51) goals as Henry, while having 1 more UCL assist (17 vs 16) and 8 more PL assists (82 vs 74)
Salzburg away to Madrid tonight
Is Bajcetic still with Salzburg or did he go on loan somewhere else when Pep Lin got the chop?
He hasn't enjoyed his time in Salzburg. He was fined for a few disciplinary issues and was reported to have asked Liverpool to terminate the loan agreement in December. There was some speculation that he was going to Real Betis on loan for the second half of the season but nothing has come of it. Given how quickly the club arranged a new loan for Calvin Ramsay, I think they are happy to let Bajcetic remain at Salzburg and have the opportunity to grow up a bit.
On your first point, for comparison , Doak as well as his 9 goal contributions in the Championship this season, has helped Scotland (and from what I saw he terrorized) to big wins over Poland and Croatia.
This is the information I can find on prize money, we are guaranteed 11m euro for reaching the R16. Teams that lose in the knockout round only get 1m euro. You get 2.1m for every win in the league phase and 700K for a draw. As mentioned earlier you get 275K for every position in the league as well. So 36th will earn 275K and 1st will earn 9.9m euro.
So far we have earned 14.7m euro for the 7 wins and will earn at least 9.625m for at least finishing 2nd for a total of 24 325 000 for the league phase prize money alone. This will go up to 26 700 000 if we win the last match. This is before prize money for the competition, depending where we exit or even win it, or broadcast portion that is based off the England co-efficient and where we finished last year in the league.

It's just my own opinion, but I always get the sense that Salah never gets the same degree of respect from the wider football world as the likes of Henry would have gotten. The other comparison people would make was with Hazards stats which I think he was ahead on.
He's never had Real/Barca etc sniffing around him as well - not complaining, but always found it odd. The likes of Suarez, Bale, Hazard etc all had their transfer sagas but I don't think Salah ever had. It's all worked in Liverpools favor but strange at the same time.
Oh he absolutely gets disrespected imo.
Just a few weeks ago he broke the Premier League record for most Goals + Assists in a single month and didn't even win player of the month.
Last year he wasn't even on the 30 man shortlist for Ballon d'Or or the 10 man shortlist for African player of the year.
Then there's Sky who have ordained both Cole Palmer and Alexander Isak as "the best player in the Premier League" this season while saying nothing about the guy who leads the league in both goals and assists.
