The king is dead, long live the king.
With the 2024 season done and dusted and lots of chatter now about drivers and how they will perform for the 2025 season, thought it would be no harm to start a 2025 season thread.
Go!
He's standing next to an F40. I love the F40!
He could turn up in smart everyday clothes. You know something that he may be able to walk around the place in, not just posing clothes that likely need a team to following him around to ensure the coat is suitably arranged.
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.
This is going to upset you so. 😯
Can’t wait for the radio comms between Hamilton and the Ferrari pit wall.
“I’ve got no grip man”
“…we are checking”
Lap 2: Plan E, Lewis
Had to check the thread title for what year it was when i seen Hamilton was back winding people up by…..wearing clothes!! 🤣
Thinks he is a Mafiosa boss, at least Schumacher knows to put his arms into the sleeves of the coat.
The tie is sloppy tied and the collar gap is defo not looked after properly. Would love to see the feedback of this twitterguy on it lawl
What’s with all of the superfluous buttons? 🤔
Each button represents a World Championship the British press believe he has won.
Id be the first to say that Hamilton can be an insufferable bellend, and his clothes are often laughable, but come on... He wore a formal suit and jacket to his first day at the new office and people are losing their ****. I know nothing about fashion, but I think he looks smart for a change.
This looks fine, it was the overcoat that made it full on nonsense.
I second that, it just needs a flash of red though.
I thought the exact same thing. How hard is it to put your hands in the sleeves of the coat like. It looks stupid the way he has it on. Schumacher done it better.
This is interesting about changes at Haas:
They'll have the first female race engineer on Ocon's side and a Newry man (from the looks of his LinkedIn anyway) for Bearman.
Here is the picture of Lewis we have all been wanting to ser. Lewis in Red,
Hamilton on track in Fiorano..
Ideal world for me would be Ferrari delivering a proper title challenging car in the next two years giving LeClerc a chance at unlocking a little bit more to win a title. Hamilton picking up a respectable number of wins but ultimately just helping LeClerc beat Verstappen(/Norris/Piastri?) before realizing he doesn’t quite have enough to win across a full season and setting off into the sunset. Hamilton is clearly not going there to play the Sainz role but I think it’s better for the sport if someone like LeClerc closes the gap to verstappen.
I’m biased now despite being fully behind Verstappen in 2021. Have seen the odd poster here argue that Hamilton isn’t even in the “GOAT” conversation! He’s definitely a great as far as I’m concerned and would like to see him have some success towards the end rather than it petering out like say Vettel. At the very least, Ferrari and Hamilton is just a cool combination to see.
Ferrari + Hamilton should be cool alright. The British press need to cool their fawning over him though. I reckon he will end up being the 2nd Ferrari driver with Leclerc being the clear winner across the season, but it would be fun if Lewis did beat him too.
His new lid is nice:
As a Ferrari fan, looking forward to seeing how Lewis gets on. It really doesn't seem a natural team choice for his personality but might make for some cracking Team Radio!
On a similar note, does Lewis speak any Italian or will he make the effort to learn? Always goes down well with the Tifosi and team when the drivers address them in Italian.
I heard a few words of Italian from him in the video clips I saw yesterday.
He looks odd in red, it’s going to take me a while to get used to it.
Agree. Of the three being rotated, Spa is the only one I'd like to see permanent and it's been precarious for years so maybe rotation is an option to secure it for the long term. Imola isn't suited to modern F1 cars and I was surprised it kept its slot when they only returned there originally because of covid messing with the calendar. Barcelona has always been a pretty boring venue for as long as I can remember. I'm happy to see new venues like Rwanda and Thailand being given a chance, and will reserve judgement until we see how the events actually go.
Isn’t Stefano Domenicalli from Imola? My understanding was that’s why it’s being kept even though it’s no longer suitable.
It's a very wealthy country with lots of finance industry. It's probably pretty influential and gets what it wants. It has a pretty poor GP circuit which is actually across the border in Italy. But it wants a GP, so it gets one.
This decisions isn't for the fans. It's more about doing favours for the right people. Similar to the Saudi races.
It is an odd one though. They dropped the race nearly two decades ago and there was very little indication that it was ever coming back. Then in an emergency when they were scrambling for places that could hold GPs in 2020 they ended up with previously unplanned events including Imola, Mugello, Turkey, the Bahrain outer loop. The others were all dropped once things were back to normal but Imola just stayed on the calendar, despite being the worst circuit of the lot. Obviously there must be financial reasons for it but it does feel like it just snuck back onto the calendar under the radar while other new additions to the calendar have always been more heavily discussed and scrutinised.
2 Italian races feels right though. But that's more of a nostaglic view than anything else.
Yeah I wouldn't disagree. Think it would have been better if they stuck with Mugello rather than Imola but that was never on the cards.
The British media, as always, are in a knot over all of this. They seem to be painting it as a saviour is coming to Ferrari, despite Ferrari already having one of the best on the grid already.
It’s nice to see Hamilton out of Merc, he is in the twilight of his career and I’ve been vocal enough with my stance that he is past his best. A win or two will make this a success, his work will be cut out beating Leclerc though, who is only getting better and better.
Far from a Hamilton fan but I think he will be absolutely on it IF the car is fighting for wins.
Considering how close the top teams were last year, I see him winning races.
