Its the perfect spot to build from a business pov. People just after walking back from the diving boards and finish up in there for a coffee.

It's the perfect spot! Yes I think it's a bit of a eyesore too and a single storey would have been better but there is no doubt it's the best spot of the lot to be in for business. I would love to sit and be able to see the sea so close when having a coffee, the view couldn't be better!

I just personally don't like the building. I don't think it suits it and looks out of place. Just my opinion. Obviously good to have more choice out there and its become a very busy place now, and great there's more parking in the area.
I've waited 45 minutes for my order in the other place which just showed the can't cope with the amount of business available. Ended up with a mediocre coffee and ice creams that melted before we got out the door. I'll be glad to be able to go in somewhere and hopefully get served quickly.
I believe there's to be an apartment upstairs in the boathouse

I see the derelict houses down beside the old Ballymullen post office have been demolished. The council are to build new homes there, which is good news. They also bought a house in Clash, near the school,which I assume will also be redeveloped.
I just read on Paul Dalys fb page that the council have also acquired land by Oakview owned by Creans for more housing.
I wasn't going to wait another 45 minutes for it to be replaced. Just never been back.
Is it the Council building in Ballymullen? Thought I was reading in paper it was development with between Kellihers and some other name I can't remember.

Demolition has commenced at the sports Centre this week and they will hopefully be done in 3 weeks.S wimming Lessons will recommence once Pool is back in Operation. Maybe it's my imagination but I feel like the fairly common 20 minute wait for coffee in Mike's comes up every so often and people get really annoyed at whoever brings it up for whatever reason.
Agreed. The lack of freedom of speech in Ireland gets oppressive. More feedback might get businesses to provide better service, hire more employees and improve products and selections.
One particularly annoying thing is the exhortation to "buy local!" Can't do so, if the shops are closed because it's before 10am or after 4pm, or the one attitudinal employee is yapping on the phone or outside smoking. Easier to drive to a big mall or order online.
The place was chaos that day. Students running the place and a manager/ owner no where to be seen. Says to me the owner didn't care what was going on , only that the till was filling up
Hope everyone survived the storm ok? Was fairly powerful wind, barely slept last night! No major damage apart from a broken gate! Good few trees down around the town. One tree in Princes street knocked powerlines so no power for businesses around there.
And no consequences to the slackers left to run the place. Owner should deputize appropriately and boot the bad ones.
The ones on the counter weren't slacking, just no one to manage and get a system going. More staff would have helped.
