Assuming those figures don't include solar power, you could get up to 700km range with solar added. Very impressive.
I can't help thinking the headlights make it look like it's falling asleep.

Does anyone experience a 1-2 second audio delay using Apple Carplay wireless? I must try it using a cable and see what happens but it a small annoyance on Scenic E Tech at the moment. Also it's my first car that has a capability of wireless Apple CarPlay, surely it's not a known issue?
A delay from what? Surely the sound doesn't need to match the screen unless I'm taking you up wrong?
An example
You play a song, it takes a 1-2 seconds to play, you skip a track and the next song takes 1-2 seconds to play
Ok sorry I get you. I have had wireless android auto before with zero issues but not sure if apple play is any different. Doubt there should be any delays as the old fashioned Bluetooth connection in the car is fairly instant
haven't experienced that in a megane e-tech, the infotainment system is the same in both afaik
Oh that's interesting. So you have an iPhone and using Apple Car Play wireless and encounter no issues?
What iPhone do you have?
What IOS version is it?
Does you car have inbuilt Android and what version?
What your car OpenR Link version?
That happens in my Tiguan as well with wireless car play. Not always but often enough to be annoying.
yeah, no issues once connected but sometimes issues with the bluetooth connection though - i think that's the phone or ios version i'm on. happens with bose headphones too.
iphone 12 pro max / ios 17.whatever it is - need to update this weekend
not sure what version of openr link - but have updated anytime an update comes in so assume latest
I did some further testing on this and found no issues when connected via USB C lightning cable which is quite interesting
I'm on a iPhone 13 using IOS 18.2.1 (latest)
If you go into system information in your car settings, what is the SW showing?
Mine is showing 283C34005R
What would be interesting is if you update your IOS at the weekend do you encounter issues or not.
The draft programme for government published yesterday mentions a promise to review custom duties on second hand EV imports.
Given the massive supply next door in the UK any significant customs relief on EV imports can only be a good thing for those looking to import.
Definitely, that would boost supply here, probably depress existing car values even further, simi would do a lot of whining I'd imagine.
Not just here but also up north where EV's are significantly more expensive than they are in Britain.
Why? I thought there was free trade between NI and the rest of the UK.
I can only speculate that the higher prices down here have a ripple effect up north. Why keep lower prices in line with Britain when southern buyers are willing to pay more but still get a better deal up north than they would down south.
If you look at autotrader, put in the titanic centre postcode and set the search radius to say 200 miles and then filter low to high in prices you'll see the vast majority of cars at the top of the list will be in England and Scotland.
No idea. Numbers seem to be lower % than UK. I wonder does that make them. More expensive used as there's less of them.
There's a lot of comments on FB about how poor the charging network is up there. Perhaps that has an effect on perception and this this sales.
I'm not sure if the link below is widely known or not. Assuming it's accurate enough it has a lot of interesting stats on EV sales by brand and model across European countries. A lot of informative detail I think especially when you are looking at sales trends by brand and model.
https://eu-evs.com/bestSellers/NO/Brands/Year/2024
when would the bulk of new car transactions be done and second hand cars start coming. Anytime from January onwards or are sales people mainly dealing with sales of new cars in Jan and only get to selling the trade ins in Feb……or do I have it all wrong.
I presume January is the busiest, but I've a new car coming in 2025 and no sign of it yet, could be Feb or March before it arrives, could be tomorrow for all I know so my trade in wouldn't be available until then and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I imagine the onus is always on new sales especially Q1 and Q3
I laughed when I read that, the government has no control on custom duties, its a EU thing, so a promise to review will go like this, we looked at it and there is nothing we can do.
Second point is 2nd hand imports make up around 45% of registrations and about 2.7% of that is 2nd hand EV's, its not a customs, vat or vrt problem its a demand problem, and the demand is not here.
DC EV done some nice Infograph's that show the breakdown of EV sales in 2024.
Did MG really sell 9,662 cars? And if yes why is their bar chart so small? Or is it meant to be 966? Makes you wonder if the rest of the data is correct.
966 is correct well according to reading that chart I haven't looked it up to verify.
962.

How easy is it to replace a windscreen for new cars on the market?
Some kick in the teeth, barely had the car 5 days and a crack in the windscreen of my Renault Scenic E Tech
Speaking with the dealer, it's a special windscreen and has the Cock logo on it, so I wondering do the likes of AutoGlass stock stuff like this?
It definitely ain't easy! All the sensors might need to recalibrated, no idea about the logo but maybe the likes of auto glass can get the replacement direct from Renault. Have you windscreen cover?
Is it covered by your car insurance or could it be added at renewal ;). Windscreen specialists will have an answer if you ring them, often there is replacements available if the car has been on the market a while.
Insurance might be limited to a set amount or may have a large excess. Some of these windscreens are extremely expensive and the insurance isn't close to covering it.
