251DL35, post up what you have seen 251 wise
A neighbour of mine just got a new MG4 this week.
Will be interesting to see more performance cars registered here as they all go hybrid. I remember Beshoffs having a couple of hybrid Ferrari not long ago
Once someone in a position of power doesn't get upset at people having nice things and find a way to tax them out of reach. That m5 is beautiful
What's the motor tax on the new m5? If it's the e2450 rate, it's sick... the e1250 you could you stomach for that car...
Ah yes. For years on the old system , the old Irish begrudgement tax .. now that it's based on emissions, nothing they can do about it...
251-D MG Cyberster
Didn't get a pic 😕 😪
€140 😁 Not kidding.
The hybrid setup in that car has it in one of the lowest tax and VRT brackets. A 4.4 twin turbo V8 is under the bonnet and it’s cheaper to tax than a diesel hatchback. The car is cheaper to purchase than its baby sibling M3 and much cheaper to run. It’s completely mad. They’ll sell plenty of them here. We love cheap tax.
That's what I'm saying, that they don't concoct a way to do something about it.
They could do plenty about it if they so wished, thats the fear. I remember the days paying 1293 for my 3 litre, I think i was out before it hit 1494 per year.
Luxury car tax or something, I've been watching some Australian car reviews on YouTube and the manufacturers have to keep them below certain price there or else get walloped. Weight in certain EU countries.
We even see certain posters here crying out for tax on certain vehicles for weight, height, bodystyle.
Can you get an i5 to look like that m5?
€140
E140 Lol! Justice!!! People driving that car, will have been bent over backwards for years being robbed on the old system most likely, if they liked their nice cars ... here is the insanity of the system, motor tax for some, is going from e1809 a year, to e56 a year on vintage tax, it's a total and utter farce of a system....
I paid it for long enough on M3’s and V8 BMW’s. I know the feeling. Can’t afford a new M5 though, even at €140 a year tax 😂
Ii don't see anyone in photo. Dealers to it for social media content
How does €1809 tax to €56 tax make it a farce? My M3 changed to €56 a year this year. It sits in the shed for the majority of the year like most vintage cars
You don't think it's a bit of an extreme? How many cars were exported or parked up for months of the year when paying the extortionate rate ? I should know, I've driven multiple cars on the max older rate...
Don't get me wrong, im delighted with the e56 rate, but its the total lack of any logic to the system and the rate of motor tax on older " larger " engines cars, that I've an issue with...
None were parked up. It was 3 months on then 3 months off then declaration, then 3 months on 😂😂😂
Or 16 change of ownerships after getting away with the tax being out 4 or 5 months, in the case of my mate and his 530d :)
Whatever about the price of new cars in Ireland being high , its high road tax for some cars that is ridiculous . €2400 road tax is mad .and why should I not be able to buy say a 2006 merc S 350 Merc and drive at at weekends and not have to pay €1800 road tax a year
That’s where motor tax integrated into fuel would help you. User pays basically. The less you use, the less you pay.
The UK’s road tax system is actually starting to become worse than ours for once. Depending on the type of car.
My dog Jack bought my well out of tax car from me once at my parents address. Saved me a fortune. Just did it out of divilment
I remember my mother getting the post she was giving out she didn't want the guards calling to the door! What, looking to speak to the dog?
RIP Jack
thats exactly why , my last car, an s500, think it was a 5.6 petrol. With the insane motor tax here, you want an insane engine, the 3.5 makes you feel a bit better after being robbed…
The dropped kerb. Plenty of space either side of it to have stopped but they preferred to block the space where a wheelchair or buggy would cross!
No need to have any other sign at all dropped kerb and no I didn’t disappear just have better things to do.
Dropped kerb is a vehicular entrance. Not a pedestrian dropped kerb. So you’re wrong.
I know the area well, you’ll see his car parked there every day, all day. The clampers would have it clamped in no time if it was parked illegally.
So it’s illegal to park adjacent to the dropped kerb outside your house? Laughable 😂
Thought I hit the wrong thread and ended up in motor tax rants.
First 251 D that I didn't know what it was! Kia K3 earth I believe. Looks to be a face-lift of the previous model.
Not 251 but saw a late 242 D Santa Fe. What a horrible looking car from the rear. We have gone from aerodynamic to literally a block.
Theres a bad parking thread somewhere. Use it.
I have only seen a couple of 251s so far, Volvo XC60 and a Porsche Macan.
Although here, with full photo credit to Jamie Lawlor of SupercarsofDublin on insta, is a sparkling new G90
M5
That's literally the one the parking wardens here are getting upset about
What does a GR Toyota go for in Ireland new is it around €80k? Still, I'd love that Yaris
