As suggested in other thread, starting new thread, to continue discussion, and reduce the issue of 'Vanilla Tremble' (…another great new Boards feature!!!).
After event, will merge threads.
…. This ?
Models had teased the most brief potential in the last two days for Wednesday evening but near minuscule precipitation amounts coming ashore so I didn’t think it was worthy of a comment.
Upgraded potential on the charts this morning however for action around 6-9pm. But looks like we could exceed even that.
the top of Slieve Foye Co Louth. Today 8-1-2025
Scattered showers were forecast by Met Eireann but from experience, once showers start coming in from the Irish Sea, it doesn't stop for hours. It's mainly hail right now but there's a bit of everything thrown in.
Luxury!
This is the view from Rush down towards Howth..
Very dark clouds indeed..
Brief window now for a few snow flurries in DUblin, but the wind direction will become unfavourable later this evening
light snow in Stillorgan Co Dublin
Its to be -3 or -4 in Dublin this evening / tonight according to Met Eireann. Presumably wind direction doesnt matter in the slightest when its that cold. Temperature has hardly even hit 0 degrees this afternoon. Frost in our garden and on all the footpaths hasnt even thawed today
snowing lightly and wetly in Sandyford SCD (404ft asl)
The wind has to pick up moisture from the sea, it will be shifting direction meaning the streamers will no longer make landfall. If the direction held dublin would potentially see some decent snow, but from what I can see in weather models that will not be case and the precipitation will fall away from the coast in next few hours
Wind direction is such a f****ing pest for Dublin lately.
Light flurry of snow in Dublin 16 now!
It's our time
dark clouds approaching Dublin 5 and its absolutely baltic
Got the castle too..
Light streamer drizzle here in Loughlinstown, temperature seems to be still dropping a little, the hope dies last!
Uggghhh. Rain here in Dublin 16.
Looking at the TII cameras, I see that there's wintry precip falling on the M50 on the south side, looks to be snow in the higher areas near Dundrum. Surface temperatures in most areas are at freezing or below. I think this evening could be quite dodgy in many areas in and near Dublin city, most especially on untreated and local roads. Footpaths too could be extremely hazardous.
Sub zero all day, - 1.2 the max min as it were and now falling. That's notable enough. We did have a calendar sub zero day back in the fog in November as well. This should be another by the time we calculate it.
A whole ice day today in Meath, the birds are happy their feeder is full.
snow? Rain? Im in the path of this and i can see very grey sky's heading my direction
Oh I’m not a bit stressed about it thank you and I have several options for getting to the airport. My question was if any of the excellent amateur meteorologists had a suggestion as to what the weather might be like in Leinster on Friday .
Its snowing in the Capital!!
D16 and the snow is dropping!
Quite heavy shower now in Fern Hill, stepaside.
Beginning to stick on grass
White gold here in d16..
Can see Dublin mountains shrouded in dark snow clouds from Dublin CC. Nothing falling here as of now.
Dublin very lucky to be getting that very narrow band of showers. Northwards of that diagonal train of showers is the Northern Ireland shadow so not a hope unless winds switch more easterly than north-easterly. South of this line is the IOM Shadow and Wales Shadow.
it would wanna make its way to d10 sharpish. Sick of this sh*te lol
Stepaside Village and not one flake as yet!
I mean you are only 0.4k away!
Mad
seems to be light snow flurry starting in Dublin 5
