it’s just complete laziness, if the “reporter” could be bothered to look at eTenders they’d see that the rates are there for the world to see. If the schemes in Kerry were longer they’d be more expensive, even if the schemes were the same length they could be completely different jobs. Drainage, ground conditions, traffic management, other services etc. all dictate what a job will cost.

it certainly would be indicative if jobs were like for like. If you have a 2km scheme running through a busy town with a maze of services where the entire pavement and formation has to be replaced it’s going to cost multiples of a 2km plane and replace in the middle of the country. As another poster said above, it’s an attempted FG hit job on the Healy Raes. If anybody thinks differently all they have to do is look at the rates on eTenders and go to the Gardai when they find evidence of wrongdoing. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the report on same.

I think this is the most appropriate place for this. A row has broken out where some members of the Independent group that didn't get any reward for supporting the government now want to sit on the opposition side of the house so that they can have speaking time in the Dáil.
