How would you go about standing up a 16ft girder? Teleporter, loader? have to brace to the main shed too.
Whatever you have. Teleporter would be besy but the dung grab on a loader would do or failing that, strap it (with room to slip down) to a bale spike frame on front loader. Nothing easy about it.
For fk sake be careful and safe, that'll kill anyone it falls on.
Teleporter of digger would be ideal. Front loader and a strap would work as well.
Having a second body around will really speed up the job. Key is take your time
Whatever you use, you are going to have to suspend it from well above it's center, so it doesn't swing around and hurt someone. I put up 10 foot girders on my own with a tractor loader. For 16 foot, I'd say you'll need a digger or teleporter to be safe.
Clamp 2 vicegrips at 10ft and use a lifting strap. The vicegrips stops strap from sliding up.
Whats best way to remove or cut flush with floor 12 foot railway girders set in 8 inches of concrete
Back into it with something that is unbreakable like a old strong trailer and it will snap at the bottom!!
@cute geoge that usually only happens when you don't want it to happen.
I've drilled a few of them and they don't give in easy there was unreal stuff in them. The content in them seemed to vary too like they were throwing in different metals when they cast them. A far cry from the recycled crap you buy today.
A consaw and a kango would do it though.
I suspect it will be fit to wash a Barbie house…
Are you sure it's only 8 inches. If so, cut into the concrete maybe 6 inches around the girder top with a 9 inch grinder and then go at it with a kango hammer. You can reuse the girders again.
Use concrete cutting disc, of course.
Much easier tackle the concrete than the steel anyway
ours is on a wifi switch. It’s a total game changer. I’ve a routine set to switch it “on” every evening so if I’m doing something and forget it comes on anyway. Farm yard lights too.
IIs there a floor concerted around them, or just a butt
Both. Originally they were butted and I put a floor around them years ago
Fencing this summer and getting the materials now , is there a electric gun that can be purchased and has any recommendations or am I aswell to just stick with the hammer and get on with it.I have a large feilds and anything that can make it easier I will have to do.
Either these, or Milwaukee. Both are spendy..
Yea but good be worth it and make life alot easier.
Do you have any other brand of battery power tools like DeWalt? The Dewalt guns are very poor and the Makitas aren't too much better. Milwaukee and Metabo much better. Just thinking what you can tie in to your existing batteries/ charger.
I dont, basically starting out , sort of was thrown into the farming life suddenly. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated .
Metabo have great stuff but the range and availability is a good bit smaller. Milwaukee have the best power for each tool pretty much but wear out and are unfixable because of that. Makita have steady stuff and DeWalt have a giant range.
If I was starting out into tools I would go Milwaukee. 2nd choice would be Makita although the nail guns are poor.
Dont think youwould need a staple gun unless you are a fencing contractor.
You could use thr screew insulators for single strand wire
Have you much fencing to do alot easier to drive stakes in March ,ground gets hard in summer
yea prob about 60 acres if not more, fields everywhere, but not all have to be done either. Done some of it last year aswell and with electric fence up the cows dont break out.
Would recommend the screw insulators as well. A good job for a young teenager. Save you some time for other fence work.
I got one for ye,, I have an old silage trailer/ bog trailer with 8 25 20 tyres on it (2 on each side).
Anywhere up the country selling part worn or new tyres, nothing available down here. A lad told me to change the axel to supersingles. But il try my friends on boards first
I know of a lad who changed his old 8 25 20 tyres for same size replacement tyres which were from a rubber duck excavator. Great job, but hard got. Really looks the business.
Hinch tyres in tullamore carry a huge range of second hand tyres 0579341127
Would any of ye have a simple design for a spinning jenny or a wire unwider for fencing. I had one here but I gave a loan of it ages ago and I don't know where it is now. Thanks
I'm sure there is one in this thread, it's a pity the search facility sucks.
Probably not to hard to replicate one like this.
Get a set of these,
