As suggested in other thread, starting new thread, to continue discussion, and reduce the issue of 'Vanilla Tremble' (…another great new Boards feature!!!).
After event, will merge threads.
The met office uk in their forecast have a lot of precipitation down South tomorrow. Found their radar predictions very accurate for here the last few days. If it freezes on this tomorrow night…
My daily contribution of photos to here, another long day of shooting. Tried the Hellfire again, the snowline being so clear was cool to see. Second shot is the Sugar Loaf completely covered from the R755 to Roundwood and paid Glendalough a visit where a lot had melted to slush but still a good bit around.
but not Meath 😭😭😭😭
Mod Note: Icicle2025 you were instructed on previous snow and freezing conditions thread not to post on the thread, this is a continuation of previous thread, do not post on this thread also.
Thankyou 😊 I won't mention it to my kids and get their hopes up, but it would be nice 😁 Were happy we've had what we've had. No lying snow so far, but to see something this close to Christmas is like a dream come true for us. Were lucky if we see something every other time Ireland gets snow 😊
Just back from a walk... it snowed for 10 minutes, but nothing since then. There is not much better than hearing the crunch sound underfoot as you walk on compacted snow. Hopefully now with freeze on we will get an organised band of snow showers later on.
Mod Note: whiskey-galore no need for that talk on the weather forum, we ask for civil discourse and abiding by the forum charter. If not going to do so do not post here.
Aperge next 72 hours.
It’ll be a sleety mess soon in the north but better chances of something a bit more sustained staying on the ground from anything that falls later on tomorrow and Wednesday evening for N areas.
1pm Saturday breaking down , 2c in north. 10c far SW
Colder air is sticking around a bit longer compared to previous run at same time
1am Sunday
Sunday 1pm and much milder everywhere.
Mild sector in now snow turned to sleet.
Wow, keep that photo, what a sight!
And thanks for the input here and on X Wolfe.
Some nice weather due for the week here, CCC, cold at night but the 3 to 5C temps should take care of any daytime ice I think.
I see temperatures are to lift for me from 1c to 3c between 7pm and 10pm I hope not because I really want some lying snow 😕 going by met Eireann temperature map temperatures not falling below -2c so it mustn't be picking up the snow fields or anything
Are there any good sites where you can see the snow showers on radar? I remember using raintoday.co.uk years ago to track the streamers circa 2010 but that site seems to have met it's demise
If that's the case i wouldn't be confident there won't be sudden mild sectors tomorrow either. If it's just going to be a sleety mess tonight then I'd prefer to miss the showers altogether.
Today, Ticknock, Dublin...425 mtrs
My car yday morning..east kerry..
I was just looking for Raintoday as well. Definitely gone! There is a net weather app I found but I'm not sure how accurate it is.
From a post at KildareMet twitter a/c
"This is going to take a while…… no electricity, no water"
Apparently the snow came down off the roof

Leaving East Clare wasnt too bad. Slushy roads. M18 the grandest. Same with Galway city. Just wet & cold. Don't know what the morning will bring when I do the return journey.
No electricity? You can see the reflection of ceiling lights in the window.
It's probably not even from Ireland.

There's a nice options in the dropdown menu where you see the difference between where it's raining, sleeting and snowing.

Moderate snow in Belfast now
Delighted that loads of people got the snow they wanted. It was strange to be a Donegal bystander!
But I'm due to fly out from Belfast tomorrow and I just had a feeling it was coming our way. Decided to travel up today and boy am I glad! It's been snowing solidly for the last hour and there's nothing more beautiful than looking out at it from your hotel window. There's even a lampost so I can watch all night 😀
If you read the replies at the tweet, it is in Ireland. Person who posted it answers the queries just as you asked
In answer to what you said re electricity the person replied to a similar query with
"Generator thank god"
So THE GRID electricity is gone
Snowing solidly on Monaghan Fermanagh border.
could be some suprises to come this evening..
Yeah, the go kart driver side seems to be on the left. 🙃
He is one of the best, so courteous and polite, doesn't scoff at posters or mean.
Thats a great job Yagan, exactly the kind of maps I was looking for. Very similar to the old raintoday site. Thank you!
The Shannon radar is back online on the Netweather precip radar. Prob my favourite of the lot
