251DL35, post up what you have seen 251 wise
Winter tyres?
Could really do with some Chrome. Nice colour but the grill just looks lost. Anyway that is just my opinion. Whoever it's this is probably very happy. So good for them.
That yours gumbo? Beautiful looking machine, colour suits it well
Jeez no, chrome on cars is just tacky dressed up plastic. It’s generally on the lower budget trim cars. I had it on a Leaf. Hated it. Had it on a model 3. Got it wrapped black!
Grills could be worse…..
No. lovely bus though. I wouldn’t say no. But my brother has a 192 M50D. Lovely machine and hard to go back to the standard diesels after it. Plays the active engine sound through the speakers. Not a fan of that.
I seen a video from inside an electric car on instagram. And when put in manual mode it bounces off the limiter when you floor it until you change gear. Don't ask me what car it was as I forget that part.
A Hyundai i5 N probably.
No manual in EV’s
N changing gear in an EV either. that’s teenage one unless it’s the stupid active noise thing the Ioniq 5N has. It sounds like a car going through the gears.
I know there is no gears in an electric but it's all simulated like a real sports car even the bouncing off limiter until you change gear. I just mentioned it as you were talking about the sounds piped into car and this car which ever it was takes it a step even further.
Next door neighbour just arrived home in a 251 Corolla. GR model in white with contrasting black parts, looks very well I must say, a step above your average corolla anyway.
I don't think its a performance GR or anything more a styling thing.
Brother picking up a Seat Leon sportstourer (estate) tomorrow, weather permitting he has a long drive to Dublin to collect it so he may not if it's too icy.
To be fair to Mad_Lad he has valid points re finance / PCP. Majority of new buys are on tick by people who can't afford the car but "can afford the repayments" and then they cry they are the "squeezed middle".
Is that the same as the GR Yaris or a different model? I think in America the Yaris is known as the Corolla, confusingly.
That's it there.
It's just a trim level. They don't have the GR Yaris over in USA. Just a GR Corolla. It's a bigger car than the Yaris and not a Yaris just named Corolla.
I've a new car due soon. Looking forward to it.
What is it?
A new Ford. Red. Not on PCP 😂
Thought it would be a ford alright
Going back to a Focus. It's days are numbered but it's still a good car.
Yeah, always like it. I'd have one over a capri or puma etc for sure.
155bhp Puma is a great car. A hoot to drive.
Ua the ionic 5 N.
Vicki butler Henderson did a review and said it was a work of art even on track. Torque maps to match a petrol engine, realistic gears, throttle blipping on downshift, hopping off limiter etc with very realistic engine note too.
All that sounds good but it’s a bit Chav in an EV IMO. Don’t pretend, just keep the petrol car for track. Enjoy it.
WhaTs available still in hatchback diesels brand new?
Saw the back of a 251 Mini Cooper S. Do not like the look at all. The whole charm of that car was the retro look and the back has lost that.
Also, saw some Renault 251, that all I've seen
Octavia, Golf, Leon be good ones to start with
Honestly the eTSI models there would be a better pick over the diesel. The efficiency gap has closed quite dramatically and the refinement of the petrol over the diesel is night and day.
0% interest on PCP just means you're paying a higher figure for the car.
No lender gives 0% loans. Why do you think car sales would be different?
Are you Eamon Ryan?
I'm driving an old banger and I'm happy doing so. I'd love if it kept going forever.
I only do around 10k a year, the car has everything I want, cruise control, heated seats, power etc.I have no worries about the car being scratched or someone bumping into it in the carpark.
Now, if someone wants to spend a load of money on a car they enjoy, that's perfectly fine with me.
But I think a car is still a status symbol for a lot of people. It's still a "I have loads of money" announcement, even with PCP making it for affordable.
