As suggested in other thread, starting new thread, to continue discussion, and reduce the issue of 'Vanilla Tremble' (…another great new Boards feature!!!).
After event, will merge threads.
Not much of a thaw near Mallow anyway but a slushy mess on the roads. Some rain/sleet as well from showers this morning.
Shower seems to be turning more to snow now as a bit heavier.
was hoping to wake up and by some miracle it was gone. But no. Still snow compacted and frozen solid. Roads lethal no way to get to work. Nightmare. A days pay about to be lost at least.
Roads around Rathdrum were fine this morning but the footpaths were absolutely lethal. Take care out and about folks nobody wants a broken arm or something!
Snowing in West limerick again for at least the last hour. Getting heavier now. Weather app says rain coming later so not sure will that materialise
A cold frosty start in SCD. It’s getting to about 1C now. Non stop heavy rain yesterday but lovely pictures on the socials from a snowy hellfire club so parts of SCD got snow.
Same sunset here in Antrim and it felt a lot milder.. and it’s mild again this morning. Yesterday evening’s sunset was stunning, filled the house with a golden red glow. Quite something..
Conditions have certainly not improved on the N20 in Charleville, Cork this morning. The TII road traffic cam is more like a 19th century Glass Plate image.
snowing here in the hills of cork city again.
Precipitation this morning is a lot further east than forecast.
Yep thought these would be much further west too. Probably be rain in these part later this morning and afternoon but might turn more wintry later again today.
This event should be known as the small snow of 25.
Anyone that was in the path of the beast from the east will remember how bad that was. 6 and 7ft snow drifts. Parts of dublin and kildare were cut off for days.
This is miniscule in comparison.
In your back yard…
Not a thing other than a frosty morn here. Would love some.
Whether it is small snow or whatever, the couple of inches here has frozen solid and we are snowed in. No hassle for us but its exactly the same effect as if it were four foot drifts.
I am moving in with you next time there is a snow event promised. Enjoy the snow!
I have to agree with the poster above, the sunset yesterday evening was absolutely stunning.
Our little snow in North Longford has melted through yesterday. Very frosty this morning, minor roads very slippery if driving. Nothing remarkable for us over the weekend really, just a cold spell.
Freezing rain all morning here in South Donegal. Sleety mix every so often. Plenty of black ice on untreated back roads.
People are so odd. It's not a competition.
Paths in Graigue are lethal fwiw. Road was safer to walk on.
Not sure what part you are in, I'm in North Kildare and the roads are lethal. Snow melted last night and froze overnight. They are like a solid sheet of ice and where there was melt, it is pure ice. Footpaths could be very dangerous for people, especially the elderly.
Maynooth. Roads are fine. Yes slippy but its winter.
That people see it as such is rather funny. Emma was a once in a lifetime red warning event. It can be bad in certain areas even if not overall as bad as Storm Emma.
They look it! I'll be walking shortly, listening to the cars struggle to get out I think I'll take my chances on foot.
Some very cold clouds still above limerick. IR and Radar from 08.45.
Light snow reported at Cork Airport at 9am.
Friend in Athenry saying they got a snow shower with a slight accumulation about 30mins ago.
Wet wet wet in Galway city though.
Big light snowflakes landing in north tip after a dry night.
mix of rain and then some snow in limerick city, cold, footpaths are like glass…
Did you actually just come on Boards to goad people on the weather forum where tens of thousands of people go to get weather and travel info? Roads being slippy means they are not not fine.
Saw cars struggling to get up from 98 street to Aldi. Yet roads in Carlow town are grand.
Over a foot of snow here in West Limerick.
Started snowing Saturday afternoon and didnt stop until last night. Supposed to snow more today.
