As suggested in other thread, starting new thread, to continue discussion, and reduce the issue of 'Vanilla Tremble' (…another great new Boards feature!!!).
After event, will merge threads.
There so unpredictable, I doubt we’ll get much in Carrick as they tend to die to after Sligo, but definitely a chance for a few stragglers to give a dusting 👍
did you get to the match in the end? If ‘arry had kept his head in the end it would have been my dream day, but decent snow and a draw is very welcome equally
Looks like CCC won't freeze, thankfully.
Might even be a bit balmy tomorrow, but it's so wet on the ground now.
Not preaching but make sure you have adequate mix of screenwash. Many don't. (years ago, I had to replace a windscreen reservoir pump on a car that froze in a sustained cold snap topped up with water and no screenwash, a fatal winter mistake).
Evening Rebel.
Might have to do that journey Tuesday. You might let us know how it went please?
We finally got snow here in Waterford City, not a whole lot but nice all the same.
Just finished digging out the drive. Absolutely buried in snow. Hopefully that's all the snow we'll get now. 🤞
South Kilkenny.
Here's hoping anyway I'm giving up haha
UK met office show wintry showers making it all the way down towards the South coast tomorrow. How wintry they will be remains to be seen but it seems they’re going for more widespread showery activity than I’m gauging from M.E text forecast
out with cattle, and a good run off all the down pipes of the sheds. And felt mild. Hopefully it’ll all be gone by morning🤞
while no snow here in my locale NCD happy to see many others around the country doing well. Our time will come😊. Many still forgetting the main cold is still to come this week. Some very tricky roads. Take care
Same here, by the time it was cold enough in East Cork the precipitation had stopped (despite the forecast saying it would continue to the evening).
Looks like plenty showers in the NW tomorrow, are these expected to be snow? I was half expecting a yellow warning for it.
Water absolutely pelting off the roof here. Son is terrified all the snow will be gone by morning. South Co carlow 47 m asl.
not much snow left in Dunshaughlin after a very rapid thaw over the past few hours.
Todays event very much reminds me of Christmas Day 2004 when we had alot of rain followed by a few hours of heavy wet snow and then a rapid thaw with not much left my midnight.
Quite 'mild' 2c. out there tonight under cloud and clearing precip. No issues at all my area and heading to Dublin in the morning won't be an issue.
same here…. NCD and know there’s not a chance!!
Spent a week in Lithuania last week and although we had a few flutters before we left, the real stuff only came after we’d left on Friday…
I’ve literally a garden of untouched snow there as I type this!!
Best I can hope for on the coast in NCD is some frost this week!!
Tonight is a typical example of Met Eireann going off on one!! No one else is forecasting 0 to -5. The reality with a very strong wind is a thaw and good drying with temps staying at 1 or 2
Both of my kids' schools are confirmed closed here in Naas.
Yes heard a local primary school is not opening tomorrow. Now, if there's a few inches of snow and frost forecast, I'll give it a pass, but here we have no snow on the ground, wet roads and above zero temps cloudy skies. I've no idea what the reasoning is, but it isnt justified if it's weather related.
as in thawing or raining?
Slightly OTT don't you think? Naas got a mere flutter as my dad would say.
Well technically this photo was Sallins, but its the same place basically.
Not my decision.
Might depend on where the teachers are travelling from?
Seems to be a good thaw on currently in a fresh breeze, lots of dripping and running water making walking a curious mix of fresh virgin snow, compacted ice, slush and water.
Met these rotund fellows while out for a walk with the (less than impressed) hounds.
for anyone who’s wondering it’s still raining here in Ballyfermot….. :,(
Jesus
When schools close in an area that doesn’t seem to merit a closure, just remember it’s not always about the local kids or parents. Staff might have to travel afar from more severe areas and principals don’t always know who or how many will make it in to cover lessons. I would imagine, the advice would be for staff to stay safe and not drive until roads are cleared and gritted.
They will probably issue one before midday tomorrow I'd say
i am looking to you if it will snow or not . As you where right cold rain for 28 hours. about a hour of wet snow
