As suggested in other thread, starting new thread, to continue discussion, and reduce the issue of 'Vanilla Tremble' (…another great new Boards feature!!!).
After event, will merge threads.
Dublin 15. Rain. Just endless rain.
Brilliant, Gonzo. And you stayed so positive about the prospects!!! I am very happy for you. Wind will slowly inch toward northerly before the passing of the system so it should stay as snow for you.
I'd be delighted with car snow in Greystones!
Not sure what's better, an event thread where the event actually delivered for the places expected, or the fact Dublin has gotten next to nothing 😄
Wikipedia says Rathdrum is 96 m (315 ft) above sea level?
Was out in the car and in the space of a few minutes the dash changed from 7c to 2c.
Heavy snow fall in the Curragh the last half and hour or so again, the plains are finally turning white again
Starting snowing in Waterford City 75m ASL. Wet snow but snow none the less
With the intensity noted in the radar echoes it will not take long to transfer from green to winter wonderland .
Turning to sleet now in North Dublin
Temperature just rising and rising in Galway as the rain clears.
I'm sickened! Even the forecast for wintry showers tomorrow have a lovely Galway City shaped hole in the middle.
Rare to get snow here in fairness, I've lived here 6 years and November was the first snowfall I'd seen that stuck.
There's sleet falling in Dublin 22. Apologies ìf this was reported already.
Some signfiicant #snow accumulations to come for Munster and the south Midlands before the system pushes into the Irish Sea. The latest Arpege model suggests so at least.
I work in Clane. Hoping to get a snow day tomorrow. Even after my 2 weeks off 😝
It's a wet, sleety mess out there (Cork city centre).
The grit has been washed away and some of the wet snow on the ground can be very slippy.
Be careful on foot.
Not showing Cork as off the scale snow here.
Looks spot on considering what is falling here.
Heavy sleety rain falling now in Swords, Dublin. Little bit colder and it will be bucketing snow.
Nice to see these snow reports getting closer to Ashbourne. I live in hope. Even a dusting would be something.
Yeah sadly SW has been missing from that since I checked last night
Snow here with me too Gonzo. Not quite sticking but you can see the pivot on the radar that changed it for us in Meath
Temps have dropped to around zero; it'll be lethal if what's on the ground freezes.
Rathdrum village is about 150m asl
That kinda shows how deep it is, still snowing and I won’t be moving for a while
Sleet Dublin 15.
For this neck of the wood anyhow we really do need everything to fall into place to get snow from an atlantic front.
We were off by just a smidgen. If all parameters were hit the southern half of the country would have come to a standstill.
So much PPN went by. Wasted really. Coming down hard now but it really could have been historic. Historic for some already but could have been way more widespread.
After 36mm of rain it has finally turned to snow in Waterford city.
Temp 0.8
Dew 0.4
Wet Bulb 0.7
Just back from the village and roads already covered and fairly treacherous JFYI
Snowing non stop out here since last night, and to make it worse its lodging.
Everywhere is white and no sign of of it stopping anytime soon.
6c in Sligo but at least it's dry. Dew point now 1c so any showers will be rain and hail here.
Cork has had about 75mm of rain this month but very dry in NW only 6mm
You have earned that snow!!!
