As suggested in other thread, starting new thread, to continue discussion, and reduce the issue of 'Vanilla Tremble' (…another great new Boards feature!!!).
After event, will merge threads.
Just back from tesco maynooth. Barely a slice pan left on the shelf. Currently 4 degrees and raining.
People need to cop the **** on.
If it can snow in Cork city, it might just be a day for miracles!
Always plays it down that lad.
So happy not to have to deal with that this weekend.
After 24 hours of rain, looks like sleet/snow out my window here in Stepaside, Dublin 18 - 125m ASL.
Some road traffic cams from around Munster and Leinster. More - https://traffic.tii.ie/weather-station/99/@-8.24307,52.48234,8?show=roadReports,roadwork,weatherWarningsAreaEvents,trafficSpeeds,stationsAlert
Sticking nicely on grass and patio in Cork city southern suburbs (78mASL)
Yes. Still blobby rain down by the sea (in Greystones). Slow fall in temp. 3.9c now.
A certain Dublin poster with a Cork obsession will be finding this all very difficult.
saying this, there’s a massive puddle in my back garden and the top layer is already slushy frozen! Bishopstown area cork city
Lashing rain here and 3c in south wicklow. Glad we got out this morning. Pretty miserable outside but nice to look at.
Up to 8inches now in tipp 160asl. This is turning out worse than Storm Emma in these parts and it's still pelting down
But it’s ok that you are in tescos shopping for food ?
seems that you were also in the bread isle too …
Tralee this lunchtime with the snow still bucketing down!
It will stick alright if heavy enough. Ground was saturated here too earlier.
It's killing me that posters like crowded house, who hate snow, are getting heavy snow while it's just grey, cold and miserable in the West. The clearance can't come soon enough for me now . So much for the dream I spoke of a few days back. Hah!
As a previous poster mentioned it would be great if someone had a time-lapse of the snow accumulating down south.
still snowing heavy in North Tipp. Been like this for 4 hours.
notification of school closures starting
Still just miserable rain in Bray
I concur it is slowly turning more to snow 🤞🤞
Heavy snow falling now in hacketstown, all the way back to carlow
has gotten lighter again now…Hope it picks up again!
It will last longer too this week. Emma snow was washed away within 48 hours.
you were right earlier with Leahyl about the snow coming so I’m going to back you on this too! 🤣
I'd say there'll be a serious frost tonight in west Mayo?
Heavy stuff heading towards the city now, should hit in the next hour or so.
Well that's school officially cancelled for us tomorrow!
the main road to Farranfore from Firies in Kerry, and the 2nd photo is my walk to the shop. It hasn't stopped snowing heavily all morning here. I doubt I will be getting my flight to Dublin tomorrow (and on to Donegal!) , the Dublin and Luton flights were cancelled today. Its a bummer, I might get to Dublin tomorrow if the weather cleared but there is no guarantee Donegal won't get snow later this week (none today) and I get stuck up there. Ah well, the best laid plans and all that………………
Whereabouts? Out kiltealy way?
My friend the rain continues here by the Dublin docks. Barely above sea level on land which once belonged to Dublin Bay. If I even see as much as sleet then you will probably see snow.
Really don’t think it will stick ( will be happy out if I’m wrong) but rained virtually non stop since yesterday lunchtime - ground is saturated. Whether it sticks or not if it freezes tonight trying to get to work tomorrow will be brutal.
ETA - going to go with munsterleged - heavier snow on way and will stick🤞 😄
