As suggested in other thread, starting new thread, to continue discussion, and reduce the issue of 'Vanilla Tremble' (…another great new Boards feature!!!).
After event, will merge threads.
the cork shield has malfunctioned!!!! It’s snowing in the city centre!!!!
It should be for a few hours anyway. The radar isn't moving at all too much at the moment but eventualy this front will go south east.
Yes, mixed, but will get heavier. Snow line is +/- 100m.
And I am absolutely done with this icy rain in Dun Laoghaire.

Yes once you have the right parameters for snow. Been snowing near Mallow for about 3 hours now.
Odd bits of slush mixed in with the rain now in greystones based on what's hitting the velux
Fingers crossed it's on the way to Tinahely haha
no sign on the radar that front is budging, heaviest snow of the day falling now
Nothing but pelting rain in West Cork 😩
okay then.
Continuous wet snow in the city centre.
Very much still rain here east of Midleton
You’d think JanuarySnowStor would have mentioned the risk of snow in Cork….
The wind is caused by the low pressure. It wants to travel anticlockwise around the centre which is roughly off our South East coast and moving eastwards hence the winds from the North East and North. It has a front sitting across it where the precipitation is. As it moves over England it will drag the front with it and the precipitation.
drove home to cork city, started snowing from just past Clonakilry onwards! Fields and roads are saturated, flooded and generally water flowing everywhere, dangerous journey
hopefully it can start to stick soon but so much water on the roads doesn’t give me much hope
3 foot drift and 5 inches at back of house. North Kerry
Whitechurch, Co. Cork - snowing properly now for the past 10mins. Which means the snow line has moved south from North Cork / Mallow.
Eased off a bit here for now but a lovely covering to look at.
Never craved high pressure and dry weather as much as right now
Pelting snow in Cork city right now 1.52pm
