hey
In Republic, is it possible to get a mini with “normal “ taillights? New or used options.
Get over it.
You're looking at a German built "British Classic"
Hi.. I'd like to buy a 1943 Panzer, but .…
Well said
they look tacky as fûck to be fair. ‘British’ car or otherwise. If I was buying one I’d be happy to have a look see at custom replacements….
did panzer’s have swasika headlights?
Be pretty difficult to find a panzer without a swastika/iron cross considering when they were made...
I checked it out before and to not have the union jack lights from new was about 800e
The answer to the OP is yes though, isn't it?
I'm nearly sure I have seen them with and without
Well worth it.
OK lets keep on topic here. You can get non-British flag tail lights or at least the lower spec ones have plain looking ones.
can the dealers spec them to be plain type if buying new? Or can they be replaced afterwards with plain lights
Ask the dealer.
Poor contribution to the thread from the start. This is a discussion site. OP wants a mini without a certain feature and is asking about it here. It's Saturday evening the dealer is not open
Can you provide the OP with what he requires?
Or should he ask the seller?
Latest Mini has multiple options for how the tail lights can be displayed through the car's interface. No doubt they'll probably try and sell other looks via an app at some stage.
Assuming you're looking at an F56 model, you can change out the Union Jack tail lights for the standard ones (example of them here, you'd also need the bulb holders because the Union Jack lights are LED IIRC) I think you may need to change some pins in the connectors too, but you'd need to research this further
Non union jack lights were always a free option
General query in the OP. No dealer/seller in the equation.
Yes I believe is the answer, my cousin has one without the union jack headlights
They should do Tiocfaidh ár lá tail lights for the Irish market.
Must be a sinn fein supporter
to the OP, yes you can, the sales guy we spoke to at Frank Keane told us this was a common request and they have lots of the Union Jack lamps in the spares now.
no charge to change em out.
thanks for the help.
In all seriousness, this has crossed my mind before. I don't know why BMW didn't just do this as standard for the Irish market. They look naff anyway nevermind anything else.
The new Countryman has 3 different tail light options, including the butchers apron selectable from the dash.
I'd imagine the new Mini hatch is the same.
A few years ago my daughter was ordering a new one while living in Paris. She didn’t want the Union Jack lights, it wasn’t a plug and play replacement option. €800 + is what she was quoted.
Serves them right . Such hatred towards our mainland cousins
Or just adverse to getting their rear lights smashed by random gurriers.
The bizarre thing about them is that when used as indicators they look like arrows pointing in the opposite direction to the turn which is being signalled.
To be fair you'd be suprised at the amount of eejits from urban to small rural villages that has some sort of knob jockey that would smash the headlights due to "the Brits" could very well be the OPs concern too.
Easy for lads on the internet say get over it not when you are paying to replace lights cause of some gowl
I remember it being a costly paid option to get it without the flag in other countries. So it's interesting to see some say it's a free option here. I wonder if BMW made it free here for…reasons…
A neighbor of mine had he Mini badly keyed from front to back. Wouldn't surprise me if it was some idiot having an issue with the lights.
