Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
He played the Three last time (Kilkenny aside) and that seemed about right.
Also played the RDS and Malahide in the last few tourd so whos knows. Great hes touring here though.
Not sure he is definitely coming here to Ireland - was just trying to guess where he might play if he did.
He's expressly ruled out playing indoor gigs because of medical issues so the 3 Arena is out (given how many people got infected and/or spread COVID at Cheltenham five years ago the effectiveness of this seems a bit dodgy).
Not sure if the RDS is doing any gigs next year or what the capacity of Malahide might be. Think NY would need a good co-headline or support acts if he was to do a big stadium gig like the 2019 show in Kilkenny with Dylan

Hard to see where he could play here for an outdoor gig, he’s not as popular as he once was, thats if he even plays here at all, but its irrelevant to me, as i’l definitely travel to the UK or even Europe to see him, this could well be his last time touring in Europe.
We only get him touring here every few years, but stateside, he does regular solo accoustic tours over there. The first and only time he did a full solo accoustic tour in Europe was 22 years ago, i caught it at Vicar Street - thankfully, so its scraps is all we are getting.
Went to see him at Hammersmith Odeon on that same tour. Twas for the Greendale concept album which hadn't yet been released and no one was familiar with any of the material, which was poor anyway. He was yapping for ages between the songs labouredly explaining the story. Painful stuff that dragged on for eons but he came out for two encores and as soon as the first chords for Cortez the Killer kicked in then all was forgiven. Glasto in June would have been special.
He did Ambulance Blues on night three in Vicar Street. Phenomenal.

Question for Iggy Pop what's Tier 2 business showing is this another bumped up the original price thing if so I'll hold off/won't bother out of principle.
I think this happens with some festivals. The first X number of tickets are at a lower price, an early bird thing. Then the price goes up. I think for In The Meadows the difference is 10 euro, which is fairly standard.
Love that album! Never knew he was yapping away through the gig. Always had it down as one Id missed.
they had early bird allotment and now that’s exhausted so it’s next tier up. Early bird discounts are standard enough

Was lucky enough to see Neil and the Horse from the center of the third row on the Tues/Weds night of his series of gigs at the Hammy Odeon in late March 1976. One of the best three gigs I have ever seen
I’d have to completely disagree. The context was fairly unique, no one had heard any of these tracks previously, the album did not come out for almost 4 months later. He did the whole album, it took about an hour and a half, to play the whole album, the back for a random selection of his back catalog.
Background was needed, to give the audience an idea of what the concept album was all about, and get then engaged with, never before heard tracks.
I thought it was a stunning performance, and the only tour he has played 100 % fully solo in Europe in recent decades, allthough we had sections of solo performances in later tours, this was totally unique, and i absolutely loved it.
Neil does what he wants when he wants, its always been this way.
I don't recall it being advertised as early bird.
Early birds in a sense at least they were securing a gamble on a non finalised bill, doubt there's much to add here.
I won't be practicing the fairly standard so. It isn't normal for me to throw away an extra tenner on something someone bought for less the day before.
Say it's not a coincidence the timing of the increase with the talk of The Scratch gigs.
The advert I came across said running low so a click in and they were already gone and up to this Tier 2.
I won't conform to being ranked against fellow audience members I know you'll likely have arguments for but someone else can pick them up.
I signed up to the venues presale and managed to fluke a pair.
the adverting banner/campaign probably isn’t exactly tied into sales so slight disconnect between them advertising tier 1 tickets and tier 2 only being available. lol early bird discounts exist throughout society so I’m sure you’ve benefited from them before. Do early bird dinner offers rile you up?
Early bird dinners aren't comparable just because they are named as such. I can go early this evening and avail, I can't avail of a Tier 1 ticket at all no more?

It's not really a like for like comparison though. Early bird dinner offers are there to entice diners into a restaurant at a time slot when the restaurant is usually quiet (off peak hours). The early bird tickets for gigs are for the same gig, same time. I assume in the case of tickets they offer the discount to try to generate early sales. Not arguing for or against this, just saying the comparison to early bird dinner offers is not valid IMO
You are probably right that the words early bird were not mentioned explicitly, but the press at the time of announcement mentioned 3 different ticket prices: 65, 75 and 85.
Probably because I'm familiar with the concept (which is not unique in Ireland), I assumed that it's an incentive to buy early for those really interested in the gig, then the price will go up as advertised.
Anyway, I get your point though I don't necessarily agree, but not a hill I'm interested to die on. I don't consider this the same as dynamic pricing for example.

Hyde Park have been using it for the last few years, tier 1, tier 2, tier 3 etc.
They had 600 tickets for Tier 1, then it switched to Tier 2.
There are about 5 tiers, all separated by 10 pounds and then they have extra tiers with a souvenir ticket or lanyard so the range is ~70-80 pounds for essentially the same ticket. Its a bit of a con.
The original CD release I bought in HK came with a DVD of one of the Vicar Street shows
The album hadn't been released so as a concept album he felt an obligation to explain each and every track for 2/3 mins. Hard work, for me anyway, and when the album came out I wasn't that keen. Maybe I judged it too harshly so it's going on again today thanks to you @The Nal. All the best for 2025.
Fair enough, it just didn't work for me. From what I recall the album was supposed to come out before the tour so I thought I'd be familiar with it. An entire album of unfamiliar material can be a tough listen and the lengthy explanations bored me but I also understand that maybe we were privileged to get such a preview. Loved the encores though and if I had the option I'd probably do it again. Happy to see Neil anytime.
