His Mammy, in her grinds school. Or he may become self-employed and set up his own.
There are people who would employ him as a private tutor. Not a lot, but it only needs one with money.
What future earnings? Who do you think is going to employ him?
If I was a parent of a pupil at that school then I'd give Enoch a 'dose of his own medicine'. I'd dress up in a rainbow suit, with a suitably obnoxious banner and stand beside him and make sure that the resultant video was splashed over YouTube. Wonder how'd he'd like that!.
Another thing the court has to do is get something set up that Enoch Burke will be paying a percentage on any earnings he makes for the rest of his life to recoup some of the massive fines and costs he has piled up. It will make other lunatics think twice before they try and lead the courts and the tax payer on a merry dance.
Their actions may yet propel a change to the "contempt" law where it comes to thumbing their collective nose at it's effectiveness, maybe by way of an amendment to the current punitive fine system to the state being placed directly and effectively on the offender/s. That has been mentioned here as a means of bringing a halt to the horse and carriage effect the Burkes have successfully used in disrupting the effectiveness of the judges in halting abuse of process to let the Burkes know that the law can be equally creative where it comes to crimping their attitude to contempt.
Starting a new year is usually a time of optimism and hope for the future but it's hard to see any resolution in this case.
The law applies to all no matter what god they pray to or none.
The problem with EB and to a lesser degree other family members is proving to be almost unsolvable.
There is nothing preventing them from campaigning and protesting as long as they stay within the law but they seem bent on refusing to comply.
The rule of law must hold and they seem to be unwilling to abide by it.
Oops, I should have said Doctor Isaac…
The circus must go on!
Scenes of debauchery that would make Wolf of Wall Street seem like the Waltons in comparison…
Divine intervention through the outbreak of unadulterated adulthood.
For a moment I misread that as "weirder families" and thought is that possible - Freudian slip.
He can carry them around in his box!
....
Isaac takes over!
Something just ocurred to me: what happens to the kids if Sean and Martina are both jailed at the same time…?
While the courts do have the necessary degree of independence (for justice to prevail) from central government control, they are part of the general governance system we have for the good of society.
What the Burkes have been doing goes beyond ensuring that they get a fair deal from the courts. They have been thumbing their noses at the judicial system for the purpose of imposing their will on Ireland. It has nothing to do with any loss of their religious freedom. The application of "render unto god the things that are god's" rule has been stood aside by the Burkes to our sorrow. Enoch and his family are simply intent on destroying the judicial system here by the deliberate refusal to comply with the orders of the judges.
Wonder what relationship, if any, Sean and Martina Burke have with their wider families?
Why would the bishop not just splash holy water on them and watch them erupt into flames? Doesn't he know they are protestants?
That’s one very quick thinking Bishop:
I haven’t a clue what they were blabbering on about but fair play to the bishop he was having none of it
The courts are not an arm if government.
They are completely independent of government which is as it should be.
Many non-violent prisoners are released for Christmas so don't get too worked up on Burke getting a brief holiday
Yes. He's walking out each year without purging his contempt with the freedom to commit the same act of contempt again and again. The "Shame on you if you do it again, shame on me if I let you do it again and again" rule of law seems to be the one the state is applying to him. The courts are an arm of the government system to keep society on an even keel and they clearly are failing in doing so when they release him repeatedly while he thumbs his nose to them and the mercy he has been shown.
Given that they made sure to get it on video, they accosted him for the same reason they harass everyone else - to get attention!
I saw that bit mentioned in the article but I think they might need a proof-reader, lol. The article states
Last month Bishop Hayes suggested a repurposing of part of the prison that houses the chapel amounted to prisoners’ rights to expression of religion being “suppressed”.
This would suggest that the Bishop was objecting to this idea, so surely Enoch and co would be supporting the Bishop? Perhaps the writer from the anglocelt has the phrasing wrong?
Its mentioned in the article that the Bishop suggested some changes to the chapel in Mountjoy - hence they are accusing him of denying inmates something, something….. as well as the usual rants about transgender people.
Is there some specific reason I'm missing that they accosted the Bishop of Kilmore or are just trying to play up the Religious persecution angle and harassing ANY man of the cloth, so to speak.
Also the lie that Enoch is being denied his religious rights.
Yes, I picked up on the second point too. Interesting, if its accurate.
But as its dated the 17th, it might refer to EBs case that was before the CoA on the 12th?
Can't bear to listen, but there are a couple of interesting bits in that article
First is the obvious 'dog ate my homework' lie claiming that the family were only in that filling station for a cup of tea, when they've obviously be stalking the bishop all around Cavan for the opportunity for a new vid.
Second is this; "The exchange with Bishop Hayes occurred in the same week as a disciplinary appeals panel (DAP) sat to consider Burke’s dismissal from his teaching post."
