LGL4887 from LUX must have hit a big bit of crosswind (or was the runway not clear?) as it was about to land. It landed successfully next time around.
Several Emerald Air flights diverting from BHD to ORK, think only one flight landed in BHD all day.
Why Cork and not Dublin?
A few have gone around and ops now on 16. Should be an interesting evening in DUB.
So far, ops appear have gone very smoothly indeed.
FR6588 from Liverpool holding at Cork.
The fun begins.
As this is primarily tonight I don't think disruption will be too severe
Could be a long night in Cork
Ryanair Stansted into Cork has diverted to Dublin. Didn't hang around for long.
Ryanair from Gatwick also diverted. This time to Shannon.
The earlier Stansted returned to Cork to position, but gave up and has gone back to London.
A Ryanair from Luton has gone to Dublin. Another Stansted looked to have diverted to Dublin, but had second thoughts over Waterford. It swung back towards Cork, but in the end thought better of it and is continuing to Dublin.
An EI from Amsterdam has been holding for about 45 minutes. It's pretty bad in Cork now. Probably wasting his time.
Ryanair Tenerife into Shannon is diverting to Dublin.
10 diverted flights from Cork in the end.
Problems in Dublin now, with some of the early EI transatlantic flights struggling to get in. The A330 from JFK has had two failed attempts, as well as the A321N from Newark.
JFK looks like it's diverting to Manchester
Diversion to Brussels by the looks of it. Some trek.
Heading to Brussels?
Spotted this lad taking off from Dublin earlier. By far the dirtiest exhaust I've seen from a plane in a long time.

Doesn't look half as snappy as the Cavok air version of the same plane!

It is a Cavok aircraft - repainting probably not a priority as these aircraft are busy all the time. A
.…
Who's this now?
What are you asking?
There’s SAM670 following (a Boeing C-32A or a modified 757 to most) - given that Antony Blinken has been in the Middle East for the past few days, it’s pretty obvious that the two flights are part of that trip and that he’s on the way back.
See that now, interesting.
Thanks
Tonight's Emirates flight EK164 from Dublin to Dubai hasn't departed yet. Was due to got at 20:50, but reports on social media say there was a ground incident and possible damage to a door. Services were on standby but stood down. Latest is of departure sometime in the next half hour.
R3DN053 the most tracked tonight!! LOL🎅
Just coincidence or any reason why two different KLM flights bound for Asia turned back?
Flightradar24: Live Flight Tracker - Real-Time Flight Tracker Map - KL835 to SIN turned back somewhere over Germany
Flightradar24: Live Flight Tracker - Real-Time Flight Tracker Map - KL895 to PVG got as far as Azerbaijan
It is flying somewhere https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf%27s_Fang_Runway
Yes it was a coincidence - KL895 had problems with the drinking water on board and KL835 had a hydraulic failure.
FR3134 Pafos-Stansted diverted to Dublin, at 2am at night...good luck for the passengers to find a hotel now.
Meanwhile, FR5291 Dublin-Stansted diverting to...Glasgow; after being in the air for 2h20m
Sidenote, but Flightradar24 put up these videos the other week. Real interesting insight into the tourist operation there!
Theres more videos in that series due to be released soon, including a flight on the aformentioned DC-3
Keep tourists off Antarctica
