or the previous gen, gone quite a while now
Can be if one uses the sexy buttons or sexy knob feature
IIs it difficult to acquire a sexy knob?
Buy online. Easy as ordering from Amazon….
Ohh wait, you mean those button things….. 👀
Sorry Gumbo.....I couldn't resist the juvenile urge to be a knobhead🤣
😂😂
I got some joy from telling relatives that my Mrs bought me a S3XY knob for Christmas, the juvenile that I am.😀
Who unwrapped it…..you or her 😂😂
I did, and then I went out to play with it, on my own.😬
I've never bought a car on finance but looking at the 0.99% Pcp deal on the Model 3, starting to consider this.
For anyone that went this route, does the finance company reach out and explain all the terms etc. before you sign? E.g. What happens if you want to pay it off early, damage the car, go over the mileage and lots of other scenarios.?
Anything to look out for on these agreements?
Am I correct that none of the above matters if you plan to pay off the final payment/GMV at the end? Is there scenario in which the final payment could increase at some point?
Thanks.
The amount payable at the end can change with PCP … the GMFV is baed on certain assumptions at tend of term which DO include condition and amount of kms on the clock, which if exceeded from that agreed will lead to additional costs. The finance company won't reach out to you to explain all the terms but I suspect if requested will give you a copy of their standard agreement with the T&C's, but it is really up to the consumer to do their own due diligence and understand what they are signing up to. Thearticle below may be of some help.

Thanks for that, and the link, useful info.
Just to clarify, I have no intention of not paying the final (optional) GMFV to take full ownership. In this case, I assume the GMFV is 100% fixed as agreed on day 1…regardless of going over agreed miles, car condition etc.
As a side, the finance company are suggesting a GMFV of under 15k for a 3 year old model3 RWD with less than 30k km.. Seems waaaay off.!
So to summarise, if going Pcp (paying an upfront lump, monthly payment and the final GMFV to take ownership, there are no variables, the figures are fixed, correct? But not the case if you plan to hand the car back in which case you may be hit with additional charges /penalties (if for example, you go over agreed miles or car is on poor condition).
In that scenario why would you go for PCP over HP? You get the same dirt cheap finance rate with HP. Just do that over 5 years instead of PCP over 3 with the lump sum.
Lower monthly payments with PCP
Over the same timeframe it's a lower monthly cost but you have no balloon payment at the end of HP. Seems like the best option when there is no intention of switching cars at the end of PCP with finance rates that low.
Believe that Tesla have cut a grand-ish off their cars in some countries in the last month. Perhaps .99% HP and nothing off for a straight buyer in RoI is not a great deal !
Thoughts on this please

Assuming it’s this one
Looks really well presented. 5 years and 4 months old so relatively low mileage. Has been dechromed (I like) but easily removed for those that like the chrome.
Nice in red. I like the contrast of the silver wheels although I like the darker grey ones that came on the 2020 ones personally.
Make sure there none here for similar money. I sold a 2020 one this year for €33k to give you an idea.
If you want it, just make sure it’s been in NI for 3 months with some documented proof to around vat/customs.
Looks to have the oem Michelins on it too, great tyre. The front skewed number plate is wrecking my head 😂
See if you can get any history on the car. As it’s out of general Warner’s, check for noises from the suspension, make sure all handles works as normal, make sure the rear lights are not filling with water or fogging up.

You’ll have to link to the actual car. The text leads me to a page full of cars. But the SR is a world apart from the P.
Apologies

Nice example too. Upgraded 19” wheels, face lift version too. But a totally different drive to the M3P.
Just depends what you really want. Same checks apply.
Thanks. Looking at first EV options around 25k. Would like a big range and a boot large enough for a folding manual wheelchair
Its literally the best value car in the entire country. Even cheaper than the UK. What makes you think its not a good deal?
The M3P has a bigger battery and charges faster than the SR. But it’s near 500bhp, dual motors and has 20” wheels, so it’s less efficient than the SR.
I would average 19.4 kWh/100km over 3 years of ownership. It could do a lot less or a lot more depending on weather and driving style. It would do Dublin to Belfast and back if I kept under the speed limit at about 110km/h. That’s a 340 mile round trip for me.
Got a Sexy knob myself for Christmas and must say Im well impressed.
For anyone doing regular long motorway commutes, the autopilot enhancements in particular are brillant. Having AP automatically turn back on after a lane change is great.
It also solves 2 of my biggest gripes with AP by being able to turn off auto high beam & auto wipers when engaging AP.
And I havent even explored many of the options available just yet. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to hack their M3/MY.
Nice to hear Wassie.
I just got the commander. Assuming I can just set it and forget it on the phone.
Did you do the front or rear install for the commander? Haven't installed mine yet.
Do the front - you get access to all commander features. Its simple and took me about 10 minutes - just follow the youtube guide from Enhanced Auto themselves.
Although they did pull the whole weatherstrip off - I found this wasnt necessary. Just pull it off on the side - enough to get access. You cant go wrong with the connections - simple plug and play.
Also suggest doing it while the weather is mild - plastic clips are more prone to snapping in very cold weather. Alternatively could heat the car up for a while if its frosty.
Also whilst the car in the video is LHD, all cables are still on the RHD (as per video).
Yeah, I got the front cable harness cos from what I could tell the rear turns off when the car locks and I didn't want to lose remote options.
Thanks for the tip on sides. Would probably have gone to passenger side having watched the video.
Edit* thanks for the tip on the clips. I'll dip my hand into anything tech but I'm an awful man for breaking clips.
