Seeing as the mods closed and deleted probably the best ever thread on boards, I've decided to open a new one for the youngsters out there. I'm a giver and like educating.

Today I had a roast chicken and pickle toastie…wait! With a smear,ney, a brush of horseradish sauce.

Speaking of Flora, have you tried their newish plant spread? The green one is nicer than any dairy based product. I even find it tastier than actual butter.

So, as a vegan. (…don’t even start) my go-to toastie combo for years in a traditional TS maker, has been - 4 slices of white, flora on all 4 outsides, Colman’s mustard on the inside, with grated non-dairy cheese, jalapeños, red onion, & thinly sliced pickle, with a tiny sprinkle of chilli flakes. 🌶️ When cooled slightly, i gently slip a little Hellman's vegan mayo inside. This will change your life - you are welcome.

I should quit while I'm ahead, but I've just remembered I had this at some stage over the last week.

A bag of SuperValu fajita mix topped with cheese and guacamole in pitta bread (which I've no recollection of buying but there's two more in the freezer). I seem to have added mushrooms as well and toasted in the air fryer.

Does that qualify?

Cheese, butter, onion, garlic, mushroom, tomato, salt, pepper and barbecue sauce on a variety of breads cooked (toasted?) In the airfrier.

Anyway, I had a pretty simple toastie yesterday:

Wheat bread, hummus, marble cheddar, a pickle slice and some banana pepper.

The key part? Honey Dijon mayo on the outside for that crispy toastie goodness.

Honestly thought it would be the strawberry jam that got me into trouble there, if you get a big strawberry, it heats up to contentious tomato levels of scald. Darn bananas, coming over here and causing toastie based trouble.

Heh the last time I put a gammon steak inside toast - toast now not a toastie before the OP gets mad at me - it was for my youngest son. he is quite young - not long since he was a toddler. But his reaction word for word to the gammon was "It's like a rasher - but so much mooooore!"
