nothing to do with solar.
So load management and being capable of off setting charge speeds.

Tesla were supposed to be working on an add on to make it compliant here but that must have dies a death as it does pretty much everything else.
Still, nothing beats the BGSync from Forkearn at the moment for €699 supplied and fitted.
anyone know if the reg will most likely be 251 if the estimated delivery is showing Jan 2025 ? and even if say one completes the pre delivery tasks in dec should the reg be 251? just trying to figure out how it works. thanks
Delivery in January = 251
I’ve had a Tesla (gen 2) wall charger almost 5 years now and it’s never put a foot wrong in that time. It won’t ‘seamlessly’ work with solar PV, but given that you can manually start/stop the car charging in the app, as well as adjust the charge rate to anything from 5-32 amps, with minimal enough input, it can be made work with Solar PV… (I usually get from April/May to August/September surviving on PV only charging).
Also by far and away the Tesla chargers greatest feature is the little button that opens the charge flap… you only realise how handy that is when it’s miserable out and you run out to plug in the car… (Superchargers have the same button) (same button will unlock the charge port) (There are 3rd party options for a button that attaches to a non Tesla charger for the same functionality).
Nicely coiled cable there Andy. All loops the same size. Cable straight down where it connects to the charger, no risk of a strain disconnect. Am I right in thinking that's a habit you've carried over from ropes on the boat?
Also feed camouflaged to colour of brickwork :)
yep,
I’m not messing around when it comes to coiling anything…
those pics were when just installed not so it’s been weathered now to the point where the cable is almost invisible…
And I got in before everyone started installing the fugly isolators next to the chargers…
Yes standard app can control timing, amps etc
Just in case you're unaware, you can tap the charger port cover and it opens. No need to use the app.
Yes, fully aware. I don’t use the app.
The Tesla charger itself has a button on it that opens the flap. The flap is already open waiting for me as I arrive at the charge port as I’ve pressed the button on the plug while walking towards the car.
(If you have a Tesla UMC it also has this button)
That only works if you tap the cover shortly after putting car in park. I'm my experience you'll need to use the app or the car screen if car is parked for any length of time.
Or walk up. Open the back door, close it and then press the flap.
Flap only opens for me when I'm washing the car and don't want it to open 🙄
car wash mode ……….
True but I have grown to dislike activating the screen, sound system, climate control each time I open the drivers door (cant remember if same applies to other doors) so now I always use app to open the port
In the split second it takes to open the rear passenger door and close it, none of that registers.
Ali Express dongle, a fiver, stick to end of your non-Tesla chargepoint plug, done!

my flap opens with a tap every time no problem, something they’ve improved on the 2024 model maybe but just assumed all model 3 did this.
I’m sure mine did too in a previous update. Then stopped. I’ll try again later.
Latest update has definitely messed with the wipers as they've gone from ok to terrible.
Mine were terrible also over past few days. Would take off at full speed over a dry screen and not react at all to an actual wet screen. Pita to be constantly hitting the stalk button to clear the screen
anyone what happens after finance approval on tesla app for registration. do they ask for any personal document to be submitted during delivery etc for registration. i can only see the input for address so far.
Does a new model 3 come with mats?
Yes carpet mats.
Do they give you a loaner if your own car is the service centre?
yes.
Generally yes if the job is over a certain threshold, 4 hours has been my experience.
I’ve never not got a loaner while in warranty but I’ve only needed that service 2/3 times. Anything else was done in my garden by the ranger.
Thanks pal- order gone in!👍👍👍
