Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
horses for courses, everyones entitled to opinions etc…
apols for delay, was in pub…
you are wrong of course!
I know when I'm beaten. Great value for the Butler gigs in Cork and Limerick, €25 including fees. That's how we should be spending our cash in 2025, not on the greedy sods.
.
And guess what Butler will actually sing live, wont use autotune and will play his guitar unlike so many other artists.
Guessing the gig announcements are done of the rest of the year
Might be the last few next week.
nah another few coming this week
Any whispers of Waxahatchee or MJ Lenderman squeezing an Irish date in next year? I could do with an element of excitement in the Christmas bag for my eldest fella.
As much I'd like it, with them both playing here this year don't think they will be back again so soon
probably next album tour in 2026 or 2027 waxahatchee. mj June tour seems full already, back in europe in august though
Borderline Festival has added more acts and provided day splits.

Slipknot? Korn? Megadeth?
Max Cavalera ?
yes please … 😁
My nephew would die of happiness if Slipknot announced for here next year. He's 12. I'm so proud.
The Killers are surly due an irish gig 😆
the murder capital for iveagh
Nile Rodgers/chic due a return any minute now
Guessing Katy Perry. Keep getting emails about French gigs. Extra date added to her accor arena show in Paris
traditional damo iveagh garden shows
Well, that's disappointing.
As far as support acts go for a mid level band like stereophonics id say it's decent.
haha these announcements are dire
Damo is an annual event and Murder Capital will be a good day out, no?
A band I don't believe have fulfilled their potential. Great in a 45/60 min festival slot. Less so in standalone shows. Time yet though, the next album very important. Surprised to see Soft Play as support but that'll help shift a lot of tickets.
Murder Capital is one of the worst gigs Ive seen in the last 5 years so.
Actually left the tent after 20 mins to sit in the bar next door so I could at least just hear the gig but couldnt tolerate that either so moved to another bar.
Agreed that they haven't kicked on the way Fontaines have but very few bands do, I guess. Last 2 times I saw them was in Vicar Street and at EOTR, both brilliant shows. I liked the last album but am still drawn to the rawer early stuff a bit more. This album really important and I'd be a bit worried based on the bits I've heard so far.
I wasn't impressed with the second album and also heard very bad reviews of their Olympia gig last November. A pity as initially I though they were a better live act than the Fontaines. There's still time but I fear that they may lack the work rate or are getting distracted by other stuff. No comment on the photoshoots. They have the potential, and the audience, so I'd dearly love to be proved wrong on this.
That's hilariously grumpy @The Nal but reflects what a fair few others are saying about them. I loved their set at EP 2023 but it was only 45 mins. They put everything into it and I thought they were as good as the Viagra Boys who followed and seemed a bit jaded after their Summer touring.
I missed the Olympia gig but my impression was that they had jettisoned some of the bullshit, were sticking to the music. Anyway, look, I still love lots of their songs, last album had some good stuff, Ethel, a Thousand Lives, crowd went mental for Return my Head at EOTR. I'll keep my fingers crossed for them. Funny, in the early days, I just thought they had a clearer idea of who they were as a band than Fontaines. Shows you what I know.
Same impression from me, too much posturing but the sound was great. Preferred them to the Fonts but they've been left in their wake and that possibly niggles them a little.
Only seen the Murder Capital once at the Olympia last year and loved it. The 2 new songs released so far are fantastic and Heart In The Hole was a great one off single last year.
Always preferred Fontaines but The Murder Capital are a lot more alternative and not going to be near as big as them. Cant really comment as to whether they’ve met the potential or not as only started listening a bit before the second album came out but most bands won’t get close to Fontaines as far as commercial success goes
Soft Play supporting is a score as well.
The photoshoots? Going 4 years without a follow up album to your debut will hinder progress any how, still would say doing Iveagh Gardens is good going for them.
Sean Paul and Ashanti in 3Arena April 8th
