I've opened this tread because I seen national lottery have started the sales of the millionaire raffle tickets today, draw takes place new years eve, around 10pm I think
generally there will be an increase in sales the week of New Year’s Eve. 26th and beyond will when it ramps up and it will ramp up.
Not sure what all the begrudging is about either- big deal if someone spends a few quid on a raffle ticket once a year. I never in my life have an inclination to buy lotto tickets or anything like it (scratch cards etc) but I will do the raffle, max I’ll buy is two tickets and it’s plenty enough.
Haven’t been fortunate so far (only at it the past 3 years in fairness), but it’s always a bit of fun and excitement New Year’s Eve. With all the festivities and excitement from Christmas and New Years never feel too disappointed for long when there’s no win. Maybe this year is my year- who knows! 🥳
Don’t mind the scrooges who complain you’re wasting your money- sure it’s your money! If they had anything better to do they’d worry about their own.

Good luck to all here who bought a ticket. But I didn't buy one, last year was the first year I didn't buy one. Never won a thing on any of them. I have the worst luck when it comes to the Lotto. The most I've ever won in over a quarter of a century playing every Lotto draw going, Daily Millions, Telly Bingo, Lotto, Euro Millions, you name it, was €104. And that was the only time I've won a 3 figure prize. I recently went 40 National Lottery tickets in a row without winning a single cent, not even a poxy free Daily Millions ticket. When the drought ended, I won, wait for it, €3.
