Mike Prendergast says his name is in the hat as Head Coach
I thought Munster might re-sign Niall Flannery with Ulster having Aidan Morgan and James Humphreys now. I guess they're going for Burns instead.
Jake.
Fla is back in Ireland for a family occasion, I'd say it was just a case of two former players/current coaches attending a training session
POC looking for some lineout quick fixes :)
What ever happened to Conor O'Shea?
He is the Executive Director of Performance Rugby for the RFU. I doubt he is leaving that role to come to munster. It would be like david nusafora leaving his role with ireland a few years ago and taking over as head coach of Gloucester
I'm also not convinced either his heart or his skills were ever fully in coaching. Seems like a box he needed to tick to go to a more executive function.
i've heard burs is excellent with the younger 10's in their development
If true, and I'm not doubting it, then this is a good reason to keep him around and parachute him into a coaching role when he decides to hang up his boots. Good players don't necessarily always make good coaches and similarly bad players don't necessarily always make bad coaches. They are 2 different skill sets
Munster v Castres must be amongst the most played fixtures in the history of the CC?
Fairly certain it's nost frequently played fixture in history of European cup. This will be 19th or 20th time they've played each other
There's no love lost between the sides over the years anyway
It was the record holder a few years ago, probably still is
How many times have Castres won?

A few surprising selection choices for tomorrow night. No Daly or Coombes in the 23.
Killer, Jager and Ahern return from injury on the bench.
Munster: Mike Haley; Calvin Nash, Tom Farrell, Alex Nankivell, Thaakir Abrahams; Jack Crowley, Craig Casey; Dian Bleuler, Niall Scannell, Stephen Archer; Fineen Wycherley, Tadhg Beirne (C); Peter O’Mahony, John Hodnett, Brian Gleeson.
Replacements: Diarmuid Barron, Dave Kilcoyne, Oli Jager, Tom Ahern, Alex Kendellen, Paddy Patterson, Rory Scannell, Jack O’Donoghue.
very light in the backs department on the bench if we ship any injuries…especially on the wing..forward bench replacements look like they would make an impact…surprised to see gleeson straight back in…Bleuler is quickly becoming the best medical joker signing ever..
Bad run of games coming so resting coombes daly and ryan?
Gleeson's not quite straight back in. He's been fit for weeks and playing for Munster A and Garryowen in the AIL.
The 6-2 split is nothing new. We had the same last week.
Mike Prendergast hinted at some rotation but I didn't expect us to lose Coombes for this one and I thought Murray would get the nod here
that is a sexy backline
Murray's injured.
Oops, missed that. What is his injury?
Elbow injury. Due back 'in the next few weeks'.
I wonder is there an element of squad rotation with that selection given the tough run of games we have over the next few weeks. Great opportunity for Gleeson.
What type of a team did Castre select? Hopefully the same as Northampton last week.
Delighted to see Gleeson get a start. Huge potential, get a good run of games injury free and might find himself in an extended 6N squad if all goes well although I suspect he'll most likely win first senior Irish cap on the Summer Tour. We've seen how quickly Cunningham-South (whose a year older) made the step up from U20 to Seniors although he's had a much larger body of work at club level.
