Disclaimer: my electrical skills are mainly limited to replacing like-for-like things… light switches, plug sockets, smoke alarms, and whatnot.
The circular fluorescent tube in my bathroom mirror light blew the other day. Thought I'd be smart and get an LED replacement, assuming it would be a simple swap, but of course it's not. Attached are photos of the mirror and its wiring (all original, came with the house, nothing to do with me), Google's attempt to translate the Chinese labelling on the ballast, the replacement tube I bought, and the instructions that came with it.
The new tube came with an LED starter, but there isn't a fluorescent tube starter to replace. However, just connecting up the new tube the same way as the old one does nothing either. What should I be doing to make this work, if indeed it can be made to work at all?
