Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
System of a down are playing NFL/Baseball stadiums next year so I'm officially out of the loop with who's popular these days
appears to be only three shows with absolutely massive supports covering the major cities in America
@ with Avenged Sevenfold ^ with Korn % with Deftones ! with Polyphia, Wisp
Bit of a rarity factor there along with limited dates. And seem more co-headline too...nu-metal resurgence in full flow, a bizarre sight
Theres a full on douchebag revival at the moment. Anyone of late teen/college age at the turn of the century are lapping up Sum 41 and Alien Ant Farm gigs.
There was 100,000 people at Avril Lavigne at Glasto this year.
Saw Inspiral carpets and Happy Monday in the barrowlands this year. What a legendary venue!
Think there's 19 gigs announced already for Marquee. Thought they'd be close to having announced all their gigs there at that rate.
Foggy Notions going to be announcing more gigs soon.
They have sold very well this year, half of them are sold out or nearly sold out. One of two more gigs for Ducrot will be added i’d say. there are still a few date gaps though and they can extend at either end also. , so we might get more.
The man never sleeps.
There are worse things! Honest!
I'd be tempted to go just for Eve, or if he just plays country grammar in full.
Any idea on prices?
That nicely rounded-up figure is used with regularity re Glasto but almost never accurate. She had a big crowd but nowhere near that, less than half from the footage I've seen. It's only ever major acts on the Pyramid who pull that many, and it's very very rare. There are circa 125 stages there competing for attention and only 142,000 paying attendees. It's a mega festival but the tabloid media are forever bandying silly figures about so please take them with a pinch of salt.
Is there really though?
Ah no.id like to see SOAD. Was actually supposed see them and deftones in gelsenkirchen in 2013 but life got in the way.
Yeah in fairness the gigs do seem to be selling well. Don't think there's any act I'd personally want to see but they're drawing the crowds in it seems.
will be at least one more weekend added. One day dance line up needs to be added
And we love it, although missed sum 41 during the summer but caught Limp Bizkit in Toronto during the summer and already tickets for Dublin.
Never seen soad would love a show here but not expecting anything
Personally only The Waterboys appeals to me, they were fantastic last year, would prefer an act i haven't seen in a while, or a newbie, but its always safe acts at the Marquee
Alas Galway Arts has gone that way also, though always one or two decent ones - Mogwai, Leftfield, Flaming Lips, Pixies, Jon Hopkins, Pavement since lockdown. The Roisín & Monroe's also have a few goodies and I'd guess that smaller gigs alongside the Marquee's bigger names might also work in Cork.
And uses ticketmaster far too much. I don't get why FN does that when Singular Artists and Selective Memory can offer alternatives. I enquired before but got zero response.
Genuinely hoping there's no one of interest in this next batch as i can't afford anymore and 2025 is already stacked with gigs. He'll probably announce a load of co-promotes with Umack!
cause Singular artists parent company bought tickets dot ie and already owns ticketing platforms so it’s easy to piggyback on its own platforms. Selective memory are involved in the ticket booth platform that they use as their main ticketing outlet. Foggy uses whelans a fair bit which has its own cheaper ticketing platform. Vicar st is exclusively a ticketmaster venue so nothing can done there.
About 5 people have asked this now, and he's dodged every single post about it since they were announced for ATN, so I think it's safe to assume that he doesn't really have a clue and was just repeating a rumour he heard.
Been some good gig announcements recently, wonder what FN will announce now. I'm fairly content with 2025 as it is.
Hard Quartet maybe?
I was at it. Well, walking around the Railway line. The crowd was so big it knackered the whole site for hours. There were people trampling through the campsites.
I've been at full capacity gigs on the Other stage. Like Liam Gallagher and Blondie with 80k. There was 100k at Avril Lavigne. Maybe more.
This is the Pyramid field just before Janelle Monae started
And this is the Other stage at the same time for Avril. Taken back on the railway line
Pity! Gutted I missed the 3 arena gigs. I suppose the thread states rumoured events in the title! It may happen yet.
There are licensed capacities for the various stages at Glasto. If they approach that number then the area is sealed off by security as it was for Radiohead at The Park in 2011 and Chic at West Holts in 2013. Capacity for the Other Stage is 70k and the festival will not jeopardise its licence by going over that. You've never seen a 100k crowd, or anything close, anywhere other than the Pyramid. Best to ignore the random rounded-up numbers that people throw about.
Moncrieff playing Wexford for the Breakwater festival Aug 7th and limerick docklands Aug 9th
Yes and it went way over. And they did close it down. But not before it got out of hand.
You think there was only 50k at this?!
Perspective, the ice cream van is on the path at a "back" of the Other stage field. There was a sea of people to the left of this pic aswell trampling through Oxylers and there was a crush down to Silver Hayes and numerous crushes all along the railway line with people trying to get it.
As I said, I was there. Its the busiest Ive ever seen anything at Glasto.
All to hear Complicated and fúcking Sk8ter Boi.
Alot of announcements today. Last ever tour from Gang of Four
The field cannot hold anything near 100k people, just didn't happen. People are pulling figures out of a hat. That would leave 40k ticket-holders for the other 125 or so stages. The festival would lose its licence were it to go way over capacity at any of its stages and the media reports are all 70k. If may feel busier if it's at capacity or close but it ain't over 70k.
