New Munster chat thread folks. warning deserved there. https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=109477571#post109477571
Shhhhhhh- tickets available for northampton v munster game in January on the saints website.
If POM remains fully upright the SF player connects with his upper arm. Therefore it's not a red card
But his swinging arm connected with POMs head and because it was foul play to begin with the red was correct.
Coombes extending. That's great news.
Deleted, didn't read the second part of your post.
And the next one is Gavin Coombes. 2 yrs as well.

Good, you have moved on from POM was on his knees, now, all you need to accept is that there is no mitigation for an illegal act of foul play.
Think Coombes has a lot to do to make irish camps again even if he is an excellent player for us. Misses a few key attributes for test rugby
Great news, if he keeps performing the way that he has been of late hopefully he can force his way into some Ireland selections during those 2 years. Otherwise we may have our work cut out to keep him beyond that.
Pace perhaps being one. What are the others?
Not sure he can be behind Henderson say, for a bench impact last 20 mins type, even versus Conan I can’t see much in it, perhaps Conan has a bit more pace and plays in the system more but I’d argue Coombes has more power. Let’s face it we’re talking a camp spot at moment not starting. Very glad he’s staying put for 2 more yrs min.
The grass isn't always greener on the other side
Players are a lot smarter nowadays & the lure of extra cash vs being flogged like a dead horse may not be that appealing.....esp for forwards
Carbery looks happy enough
3 starts in 4 months of rugby. Out for two whole months with a broken hand.
Maybe he's happy to steal a pay check, but hardly happy with his contribution to Bordeaux so far
Daly started 23 games last season & Coombes player in 25 for us. They're two great signings for us.
47 tries in 106 games is a ridiculous strike rate for any player, let alone an 8.
He'll likely pass Andrew Conway (50) before the Six Nations starts... and it took Conway 150 apps to get to that 50.
A snippet from an Indo article…
"They’ve more business to do, with Billy Burns expected to pen an extension to the one-year contract he signed when joining from Ulster last summer.
Ireland pair Jack Crowley and Tadhg Beirne are in negotiations, while Peter O’Mahony and Conor Murray’s deals are up at the end of this season."
Not sure what BB has done to warrant an extension other than the cupboard being so bare at 10.
I was never ecstatic about his signing but he hasn't shown much since his arrival to warrant an extension
Oh f*ck me, we're keeping Billy Burns? He has been woeful so far this season. I'd rather see Tony Butler get more game time. Rory Scannell is a better 10 than Billy Burns and that's saying something.
Ben Healy might be persuaded to come back ….after good start with Edinburgh and Scotland things ain’t going so well atm …wasn’t there rumours of him getting the cold shoulder and cast aside for not following a game plan earlier in season …..mikes ahead of burns or butler …very surprised to see burns getting another contract
Niall Scannell is better as well FFS
Ben Healy is NIQ. He won't be returning.
Ben Healy isn't coming back. Things aren't going as well as he'd hoped over there but no reason munster would take him back.
He could switch back to Irish qualified after 3 years of not playing for Scotland.
I’d rather him as backup to Crowley over the other options we have at the moment.
Ben iznf going to come back. He could see with crowley coming through he wasn't going to be first choice and wants to be a first choice 10. He'll go to an English or French side nor come back here If he's to leave Scotland
I can't see a French side using a non-JIFF spot on Healy. Maybe in the Pro D2
Burns if getting an extension might be a cost price option, we dont know what the contract is like…he's had a rocky start but it shows how injuries can have an impact, we are 1 injury away to crowley of having only butler at 10..i've heard burs is excellent with the younger 10's in their development
aware of his situation over there …..but given current situation with our 10s I disagree that there’s no reason Munster would take him back ….i hope things turn around for him over there tho
Ben sees himself as a first choice option. He knows if back here he'll be behind crowley. He left as he knew he'd be behind him and he had chance at Scottish caps immrdiatly etc that other players when leaving dont/didnt. Ben hasn't shown enough since leaving that munster would be tempted to sign him back. Not like he's been top class starting all time for Edinburgh
He's NIQ. Munster will not be signing a NIQ 10. It's as simple as that.
Jerry Flannerys and POC at Munster training today
We won't read too much into that ...
Killer and Jager back it seems, hopefully thats the end of those injury woes.
