Figured I'd save @rameire the hassle of setting up the finale's thread - thanks for doing so many!
No Esteban Ocon for this race, with Jack Doohan taking his place.
Ferrari will like that spin from piastri.
Perez retires
What a sad end for Perez. Will always be remembered for holding up Hamilton in this very race a few years ago
That just sums up checos season
Perez has retired. It’s par for the course for Sergio given his form this season.
LeClerc has had a great start.
What happened to Yuki at the start? Was it a stall or something mechanical
Piastri with his second mistake of the race, hits the car in front of him at the restart
10 sec pen for max is a bit much.
Will Oscar get one for hitting colapinto
Doubt it.
Bottas has got one so at least there is some consistency.
All these soundbites from Piastri are a bit embarrassing when you consider him hitting a car right in front of him.
I presume so
10 seconds for Oscar too
Piastri does get his 10 second penalty.
"Good"- Oscar Piastri
Not the move of a World Champion.
Not sure what Brundle is talking about, the gap was there to attack Piastri so of course Verstappen was going to go for it
Yes so true. As Senna used to say, when you don't go for a gap you are no longer a racing driver.
You are no longer a racing driver if you do not go for the gap
They are talking like it is a procession stage for a Constructor's championship and that Max didn't need to do that as he has nothing to fight for - this despite him talking pre-race saying Max will still want the win.
It is not often I am disappointed with something Brundle says, but where he used to offer a level headed impartial view he has been more like the anti-max brigade lately.
They were talking about how Piastris race was ruined, but never really mentioned the damage he did himself.
LeClerc on it today.
Brundle was also talking about Oscar not expecting that move from Max…. Ehh I could see Max making that move about a fortnight ago 😂
Had to laugh at that when Piastris ten second penalty was announced just when he finished that little rant
Tbf Piastri also couldn't see Colapinto so maybe Piastri'sblindfolded?
Max isn't bred to sit back and have a procession race, he's an out and out winner. Anyone who's watched f1 for longer than 5 minutes could tell you Max was going for that move. I'd be disappointed in any driver that didn't go for that gap but it's a shame they touched
We have seen lap 1 turn 1 inshidents being waved before.
At least they are some bit consistent with the penalties
bad news for Liam Lawson.
He went too early, his light was still red but the car did drop as he said.
Front left was the issue, looked ok in parts but they've just shown a clip of a wobble over a kerb
Getting exciting now...Ferrari not letting this go without a fight.
