Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
UB40 playing what seems like new gig venue in Cork, the Barrs GAA grounds. https://twitter.com/tickets_ie/status/1864354608115536374?t=_fOrUaw-JW7SVyVvXRfOhQ&s=19
Is that the B version of the UB40 brand ?
nah it won’t
If Lankum, Paul Weller, BellX1, John Grant, Paul Heaton and similar sell out Leisureland then Father John Misty will have no bother. Off that you’d believe otherwise.
I think the seapoint owners are against it, they have bingo and other events there.
Was a great spot, they had some good gigs, Kasabian etc.
Went to Bell X1 about 10 years ago and they started calling out the bingo numbers during the gig 🤣
No proper lift, if any at all, thus no disability access. Tough for musicians and roadies to get equipment up there. Steve Earle and Teenage Fanclub were booked there for last year's Folk Fest but changed to the Black Box and Monroe's respectively. There's not been a gig there since I moved back to the west coast seven years ago. Hopefully it'll be used again but nothing imminent and it may have entirely finished as a venue.
interesting, also an Oasis tribute act. Reliving the 1995 Cork gigs, so you also get The Beatles & Prodigy tribute acts as well.

Can’t say i’ve heard of the promoter :
Colin Tobin Enterprises, but appears to be a Cork butcher/entrepreneur:

30k people in queue for Zach Bryan tickets. Mad
Best of luck.
I was at that PS gig as well. Yeah, it was slightly bizarre. Didn't affect them though; first 30 mins playing new material and then launched full of energy into Screamadelica and other hits.
Just saw an ad on Facebook for The Selecter, Irish dates next May - inc. Belfast, Cork, Dublin
It's a jersey alright https://x.com/Nialler9/status/1864634637219188973?t=rA8x0Oo4HyRf6lOSpFxgLA&s=19
These festival lineups are getting worse and worse each year.
That lineup is embarrassing.
Electric Picnic could be similar.
between travis Scott European exclusive and Chappell Roan it will probably sell better than last year. A lot of teenagers/early 20’s probably delighted with those two being announced
It's not just the headliners though, terrible as they are. The depth is atrocious, the Kooks listed third FFS.
It's easy to dismiss opinions as old men shouting at clouds, but the kids deserve better from Reading, it used to be an absolute powerhouse of a festival
sure the kooks were similarly placed in that bracket for EP 2022 and they have crazy high streaming numbers still for unknown reasons given how dreadful they are. Blame the expansion of festivals in last 25 years, diluted the line up
Gave Zach Bryan a quick listen given he's going to sell out 3 phoneix park dates, now, while opinions are all subjective, there is nothing particularly standout about him at all, even the production of the live gigs look pretty poor.
I do understand that people would like him / his music, but, how the f**k is he charging €120+ and selling out 3 nights? Likewise with Kahan, worrying trend where artists blow up and milk the fans as much as they can, while they can. What concerns me is that this is becoming more of a trend, even Gary Barlow charging €100+ for a ticket seems extreme to me. Numerous others recently too including Stevie Nicks, Sciccor sisters, ACDC, Pearl Jam etc.
Yes, I know the value of going to smaller gigs in Whelans, Grand Social etc. which i love attending, but, sometimes there is an artist where you only have the choice of seeing them in the one spot. How are people justifying paying over a €100 for a gig?
a bunch of those acts you’ve listed have either not played here for years - pearl jam, scissor sisters or are on their way out like ac/D.C. or Stevie nicks. So I suppose people justify paying those prices as their only chances to see them here. And they are stages of career where their audience has aged with them so they feel like they can charge those premium prices before they go into retirement
Are you suggesting Noah kahan is close to retirement? Fantastic news if so!
I dunno .
One of my 20 something year olds just paid over 200 yoyo for a day long festival in UK in July ...all DJs , no live bands
That's my idea of HELL .
Think hey do deserve it , EN !
Ha ha, I blame the parents 😋🤣
"Wasn't my fault your honour , I worked my fingers to the bone to give him more than I got and he cashed in his gig tickets and bought a set of mixer decks and some speakers 😭!"
I could go on, Pantera, Sabrina Carpenter, Olly Murs, Dua Lipa etc. All basically €100 (For the cheaper tickets I might add).
In terms of an age thing, Kahan, Dua Lipa, Carpenter will be attracting a very youthful audience.
I don't think I've ever paid over €100 for a ticket but have gotten close with Muse, King's of Leon, Coldplay etc.
I'm well aware artist costs have gone up and I'm more than happy for an artist to come out of a gig with a decent bit of money considering thats likely where they make most of their money, but, more and more seem to just be gouging their fans. (Zach Bryan being case in point, their revenue per gig probably working out at about €6 million).
And dont forget ….
"FESTIVAL ICONS Bloc Party" ………
wtf ?!?!?! 🙄
Got Cork tickets on presale last night. Brilliant venue for him and the new album is right up there with his best. Pretty excited for this.
I paid 100 for standing in 3arena for Depeche Mode last Feb
I remember thinking that's just outrageous but now unfortunately it seems reasonable.
country stuff always surprises me. I'd know most pop star names but there's always some random country singer I've never heard of selling buckets.
And theres the problem. You'll pay 120 next time.
Brigid Mae Power in March. Uncut and The Guardian adore her, but she seems to have stayed below the radar of most for the last decade. Hugely recommended.
That might have been the most expensive gig I've paid to see (my crap seated tickets were a bit north of 100) but it was honestly one of the best gigs I've ever been to so no remorse on that occasion.
