You can raise a Service Request via the Tesla App on your phone.
Yeah I've raised two service requests before (for the screen issue and the audio) but there was no specific option for a Ranger request nor was it offered, I was just told to make a service centre appointment. Is it just a case of asking for it in the service request chat? wondering maybe has it not been offered due to the nature of the problems or if I missed a way to request it
Perhaps for certain issues they know there's no point doing 'triage' with a Ranger visit and especially for something electrical/electronic it might need equipment only available in the Service Centre to diagnose. For other things, eg, boot hinges, they insist on a Ranger visit to confirm that they need replacement before letting you near the Service Centre. Maybe all of this can be explained by them being short staffed.
Yes you request it in the chat. You should also check if you have your software updates set to Advanced or Standard. If its already set to Standard then you could consider just not updating the cars software as frequently. You won’t be missing out on anything
You raise the request. If it’s a job a ranger can do, they offer this. If it’s something a ranger can’t do, you go the SC.
You can always put it in the notes that you’d rather wait for Ranger as it’s more convenient.
Thanks very much, that makes sense but I wanted to be sure I wasn't missing some obvious way to request it.
I changed the software updates to Standard after the last time this happened - I deliberately didnt update the software until after I got the amplifier replaced yesterday. Very, very annoyed that it has happened again - once I could get over, benefit of the doubt, but its ridiculous its happening again. The OTA updates are supposed to be a big selling point for Tesla.
I'm not sure where you are located but I understand that the waiting times for the service centre in Belfast is a lot shorter than Dublin (it it suits you).
Thanks, Cork is my closest centre.
As an aside, I am working around the sleep problem by keeping Sentry mode on - do any of you tend to leave this on permanently? I know there is a bit of battery drain, but is there any other downside to just leaving it on and preventing the car from sleeping? its a pretty cool feature and even aside from my sleep issue it'd be cool to just leave it on if the battery drain is the only side effect?
There is an enhanced Audio menu in service mode, so a ranger visit might be able to identify whatever the issue is and they can test each speaker individually as well as frequency handing, often it's a loose cable
You could phone one of the Rangers, Roger on «snip» and see if he has come across your problem before. He might drop in to see you if he's in your area.
Your didn't get this number from me btw...🙈🙉🙊.
You should really edit his phone number out of your post. Not cool to post someone’s number on a public forum
100%. why do you pass on personal details yet hide in the shadows.. not cool
Yet you post it on the public forum!
I’d advise editing your post.
Mod Note: If you are going to share a contact number, please ensure its publicly listed somewhere, i.e. on the providers website. Even better don't share it here just link to where it is publicly shared.
Apologies for that guys, wasn't thinking.
He did give me the number on a visit and said that if I phoned him, it would cut out the delay in getting an appointment and if he was in the area, he'd drop in and see could he sort out the problem I was having.
Hello! Does anyone have a good suggestion for where to get weather proof rubber floor mats for Model Y? Or a link?
The carpet mats that came with the car and starting to fall apart and get filthy.
So many options on Ali Express that I cannot figure out what to go for. Tesla own brand are expensive.
Thanks!
Plenty available on Ebay from UK sellers. I use Parcel Pickup in NI to get free postage and avoid customs
I got these from Aliexpress, but they seem to have gone up quite a bit since early 2023. No customs charges though, as they are shipped from Belgium I think. Just make sure that you select the Right Hand Drive ones.

Amazon have a huge selection…
Amazon, micksgarage
Ali express will take a good while to arrive and the odd time they're just tat, but you might get lucky
Preconfigured Tesla Y.... Will most likely put an order in the is week however I noticed that some of the preconfigured cars had a decent showroom adjustment applied to the price and some hadn't... The one I'm looking at hasn't…are they open to suggesting one is applied etc when they ring me this week following a test drive on Saturday or is the website price set in stone?
Thanks
You can try , no harm in asking, but dont hold your breath either. Good luck with it.
I’ll go with a big fat no unfortunately. The sales guys can only sell what’s on screen in front of them.
Mick's Garage does not stock mats for Model Y, Amazon options are as expensive as the Tesla own brand at ~€270.
The Ali Express ones above are similar at €260.
Maybe I'll just have to shell out - looks like €250+ is standard! 😄
I don't think negotiating a discount is likely but no harm asking!
Be sure to use a referral code when ordering for €500 off - sharing mine below incase you don't have one.

I ordered the 3W set below just over a year ago (Black Friday timeframe) - Very happy with - perfect fit and still in great condition - it was about 80 sterling at the time - I expect that there could be a good chance it or something similar will be discounted again at some stage over the Christmas/New Year if you can wait. I was doing some looking for a boot mat this Black Friday - didn't end up buying but there were some good deals again - I think there was a set of those 3 interior mats and the main boot mat for 90 sterlings so probably best to buy all together if you think you might need the boot one also. That set I saw was from Basenor - I got some other bits from them this Black Friday that are all good so far.
Try Tesery. I got very good mats for my M3 Highland at a good price.
I’m generally not a fan of rubber mats but I got these and I have to say I’m really impressed with them. Mats but with rubber underneath.
So day to day is the Nat and if you going somewhere muddy then you can clip them out and leave the rubber in place.

Did you miss my comment or something? They are under £50 on Ebay?
Just bought, have been on the fence for weeks but pulled the trigger today.
Question, I opted for the hire purchase option. I don't see where to go thru application etc etc... Do they reach out to you or what's the system here?? Thanks
