Ah that'll give them more time to concentrate on including even more MTs in their games!
Sony have confirmed that the official sales figures for the PS2 are 160 million. The switch got close but doubt we will see a console that successful for a long time of ever.
Switch still has a small chance, it's on 144ish with Christmas sales still to be posted and a shelf-life as a budget console once Switch 2 is here. It could pull a 3DS or a Wii and beef up its numbers in the shadow of its successor.
It remains one of...if not the greatest game I have ever played.
I was having a lovely time playing Balatro and then I reached the gold stake.
Dark Souls ain't got shít on this.
Has anyone bothered with the GTA Definitive Edition or the Red Dead Redemption PC ports? I see there's a sale on but I don't fancy parting with £32 for a decade and a half year old game.
Is AC7 good? I'm out of the loop.
Red Dead Redemption is very good. Though I played it years ago at release so I forget how it holds up today. Mind you all the things wrong in 2 aren't in 1. Minus the graphics would be a lot better in 2.
It's one of the best action games in the last 10 years. Just make sure to play it with the advanced control scheme, it's a much better game with those controls.
Dont listen to me, listen to Ireland's favourite PS1 games YouTuber:
MGS2 done from the collection.
I can't remember what I actually thought of Raiden when I first played it all those years ago. But now, I look at him through a lens of funny cringe. Examples include;
God, he's an awful gowl.
Booted up UFO 50 and randomly picked a few games to try. Overbold is one of the most ingenious games I’ve played this year - love the ‘betting’ difficulty system, where you can ramp up the difficulty at each tier for more currency to buy essential upgrades. True risk/reward decision-making at every juncture. And it’s only one of 50 games 😅
He's hilariously bad throughout the game.
It's fantastic. Found games I wasn't too mad about but there's also some absolute classics in there. It's a game of the year contender for sure and an absolute embarrassment of riches.
I just got the Mafia Trilogy for €9.60 on my Xbox.
Great price. I will be playing the first remastered Mafia game once I finish up Starfield Shattered Space. I haven't been able to game for over a week as I'm looking after me oul ones dog who is extremely needy.
Medically proven:
Ok Retro, on your recommendation I bought this. I played the first mission back when it was on GamePass, but bounced off it, this time I've gotten to the fifth mission or so, and my view so far is "completely ridiculous, but fun".
Thanks for the rec.
Thanks for listening to me 😊
I'd highly recommend you use advanced controls if you aren't already. They are a game changer and while they take a bit to get used to allow you way more maneuverability while also feeling more accurate to a fighter jet.
So you did get a bird in the air then.
It remembered my settings back from when i tried it on GamePass, and had already changed the controls based on what you had said at the time, so was straight into it.
I don't play enough Japanese games, but when I do, I find the stories that they tell to be completely off the wall in a way that you just don't get with western games. I mean, Kojima is his own meme at this stage, but even this is bizarre
Wait until you get to the hostages rescue mission at night. It has some of the stupidest dialogue ever. I honestly think they are in on the joke. It's hilarious.
Lovely little video Playstation put out for the 30th anniversary. Lots of nostalgia, and I know finishing on Bloodborne will get some people worked up.
It's about Discover Ireland
Turns out that tourism ad is nearly 30 too.
Found that depressingly corporate and cynical. 99% of it was dedicated to games you can play right now and everything else was a re-release that you can buy. It captures current PlayStation quite well but doesn't feel nostalgic at all for the the PlayStation pre PS4. Doesnt work for me.
Twas grand. Will be a bit shocked if that's all they do to celebrate 30 years but the world is gone corporate so I don't expect much anyway.
Just a bit underwhelmed. Was expecting a bit of love and fondness for the past.
In fairness SOTC, Ico, Parappa, Crash Bandicoot, Wipeout, Twisted Metal, MGS, LittleBigPlanet, Katamari, Jak & Daxter, Journey, Infamous were all represented, among others I probably missed. Nice juxtaposition of old and new for Tomb Raider, FF7 and Res Evil too.
Just felt shoehorned in and most were to promote new games in those franchises or remasters.
I just expected more when I saw they brought back the old PS1 boot up which is something that does spark the feelings of the old Playstations
I had spoken too soon. The classic start up sounds are a nice addition, even if they're only limited time. PS1 all the way! That bass drop opening just can't be beaten. The nostalgia helps loads. That, the Power Rangers theme and the MK theme are the sounds of my childhood. Supposedly a few weeks of surprises so hopefully get some more cool stuff. Could be them testing themes in general.
