Do you remember any ?
Two from Jason Nevins that could not be more different.
This from 2003:
And this from the following year, used in a Coors Light ad:
Was originally written for Britney Spears to sing, as a clap back to Justin Timberlake's 'Cry me a River'.
Fairly ubiquitous around late 2003.
That track got hammered on Kerrang right up til the end. Pretty much impossible to not see it once a weekend if not more of even casually having it on.
LOL, I bought the album.
Summer 2008
I'll take your word for it, haven't heard it in a long time.
Suddenly I see is on the radio a lot still.
I had completely memory holed that Jem song, bit of a classical influence, she also had one called 'Just a Ride' coming up on 20 years since those songs were released 😲
Another from the same era, I remember this getting played A LOT.
A magnificent record from ‘The Welsh Dido’ - it says here…
became a hit in 2005 but was originally released in 2003.
Gadjo & Alexandra Prince "So Many Times" (2005)
With all these boyband documentaries suddenly all appearing at once across the Beeb and Paramount Plus this weekend, we can assume that Reel won’t get a mention.
Their singles rinsed by Larry Gogan.
Backyard Dog "Baddest Ruffest" (2001)
Used to regularly hear this out around town but it took another decade before I found out the artist and title.
Another one from around 9/11.
From 2006/2007 or so, Ross Copperman.
If only there was a station that played these tunes all day every day ???
I have to say I like all three songs. I don't believe I heard Charlotte's song before and I'm not sure if I heard OK Go's one previously. I genuinely had forgotten Orson's song until playing it now!
OK Go - Here It Goes Again. (Although this might have gained more notoriety for the video)
Orson - No Tomorrow
Summer 2005. Still a great bop.
Charlotte Church - Crazy Chick
Early 2003. Oxygen featuring Andrea Britton - Am I On Your Mind?
Reminds me of my last days of Dublin
and also from summer 2002
Milky - Just The Way You Are
Moony - Dove (2002)
A number one in 2004, and a huge amount of radio airplay - when was the last time you heard this?
Even covered by Boyzone, last single they released in Stephen Gately's lifetime.
Heard John Creedon mention a singer he played last night as the brother of Tom Baxter, had a big hit here in the late 2000s.
This tune was big in the early 00s DJ Ötzi - Hey Baby, you'd never hear it now….
If wre're going to mention cascada I'm going to have to put there most popular tune here
Just remembered this one, big hit around 2008, she pretty much vanished after it.
