I think it will be FF/FG again with god knows who. Hopefully a left wing party
It will be November 15th
Alan Farrell loses out in Fingal East
They could go that route, but easier to keep one leader happy and have them keep the whip, rather than trying to herd 5 + independents yourself. Especially when the govt support II on further asylum restrictions and is basically supportive of their manifesto, so no need to compromise like they would with Labour.
But certainly either independent option is more likely now than a coalition with a left party.
Well I called it for Labour but I didn't think it would be PDs overspill that would get her over the line
Chris Andrews is in big trouble in Dublin bay south. Glorious
Delighted Sherlock got the last seat.
Bit of a stretch to equate those two. I had to look up Doherty's wiki page to learn what he was convicted of.
There's plenty of others in the Dail who are lucky not to have convictions for lying on declarations (multiple TDs), perjury (Willie O'Dea) and Michael Lowry is in a category of his own.

The Exit Poll was generally a good guide but it was outside its margin of error on FF (+2.4pp) and SF (-2pp). The IT IPSOS poll published last Monday was as reliable as the Exit Poll but it underestimated FG (+1.8pp) and overestimated SDs (-1.2pp)
I think the polls overall proved reliable but FF may surprise us by their ability to convert a 1.1 pp advantage in First Preferences over FG into a substantial seat margin which will change the balance in government formation.
Dont think there's any way for Paul Murphy to reach quota now and reckon he will get the 5th seat by default, PBP really seeing a mood shift it seems
Yeah no need for II,,,get some regular indos and that will be that.
FG could use it as a bargaining chip.
If FF doesn't agree to a rotating Taoiseach then they just step away and tell FF to go ahead and make a government with SF.
FF don't want that because firstly Martin ruled it out and secondly it would be much more difficult than FG
Personally I believe that the exit poll makes a strong case for ignoring political polls in general.
When they were so far out on how people said they had voted, it doesn`t say much for polls when it comes to how people say they may vote.
That's no excuse for voting a scumbag like Hutch.
If people are voting to "give 2 fingers" then they are morons and need to grow the fuk up.
1 vote currently between 4th and 5th in Limerick.
Hutch is gone 800 seats in it
Do you understand the difference between an 'excuse' and a 'reason' I wonder?
The polls are a guide. They predicted FF and FG would get a similar precentage vote to 2020. They also predicted thar SF would be down. Look at the trends and not an individual poll.
Ignored? There are areas of Dublin Central that have been absolutely transformed in the last 20 years and money pumped into these areas.
Rutland School Sean McDermott Street.
Diamond Park and Playground Gardiner street
Father Scully House Apartments
Brand new apartments Dominick Street
Huge expansion of the Mater Hospital and upgrade to the Rotunda
Two Luas lines serving people who live in the heart of the area
The whole Docklands/east wall area absolutely unrecognisable landscape wise. With plenty of local jobs available at a variety of levels.
Smithfield absolutely unrecognisable from the early 90s.
Summerhill primary care centre
East wall all weather pitch and recreation centre
Various other health centres, libraries and govt funded community groups dotted throughout.
And in addition, all the private investment that has gone into those areas. It's nowhere near what it was in the early 90s.
Are these parts still deprived despite this massive change? Yes, I'm not denying that.
But incorrect to say they've been ignored. Hutch etc benefits from these old descriptions of a place that no longer exists. Where yes, there are still societal problems I agree. But it must be said, it is absolute nothing like it once was. It hasn't been ignored.
Walk around it today versus 30 years ago, or even 20, and it's obvious to the eye how much it has changed.
Criminal?
He has a Conviction from a court of the state.
Mick Clifford just questioning whether MLMD wants to carry on as leader of the shinners ( based on a graph just shown where SF vote is down 5.5% ).
Well if she decides to step down, there won't be an election amongst SF TDs etc. for her successor I reckon.
The exit poll was not a guide as to voting intentions.
It was supposedly how people had voted and it was way off the mark.
FPV is down 22% for SF.
What do you think governments could have done differently for Dublin central?
Jennifer C O’Neill ‘we made a proposition for a stable government of FG FF’
No you didn’t Jennifer. You pretended you were the opposition and that you had a better way than FF.
That's done at an ard comharlie. ( Spelling) After the men in balaclavas say who the new leader is
No idea. Perhaps ask the local TD’s who made the claims.
So what happened?
Roderic O'Gorman in trouble after Ellen of Troy of Aontu has jumped ahead of him.
Brian Stanley elected by the people of Laois despite his inappropriate behaviour of sharing a hotel room with a female constituent.
Always thought he was excellent as PAC chairman.
They were consenting adults and she didn't have to stay in the same room as him.
