I think it will be FF/FG again with god knows who. Hopefully a left wing party
It will be November 15th
I agree with that. Whatever people's views on their policies they are most party that sticks closest to their manifestos when in power.
We have record number of homeless, yet O’Brien is cruising? He’s the biggest bullshitter I’ve ever come across.
How are we going to put up with another term of his huffing & puffing?
They don't sound disappointed anyone being interviewed they seem quite happy and the fine gael ones sounding more down in the dumps
That's all in your opinion of course they will be disappointed but in the real world I'd say they will be happy with ~40 seats.
It's gas how it swings.
Should down once the full tally is in.
We'll see. The clearest indicator with happiness will be weather Mary Lou is leader in six months time I guess.
FWIW I'd say she will step down mid cycle around the time the Taoiseach rotates.
If SF get close to 40, they will be far from disappointed. 18 months ago there was nonsense about them getting 70 seats, that was never happening and they didn't think that themselves. Then a month ago sages on here were telling us they'd be doing well to get mid 20s!
Whether MLMD has 5 years in opposition in her is another matter.
Ya it's impossible to follow all the action I guess the odds are swinging around a gap of 3 to 5 seats and someone going out or coming in can bring that very close or push it out, although the further we are along of course the more solid those odds will become as an indicator
Wallace and Daly spent a bit too much time admiring Putin, Xi, Assad etc. and forgot they live in a country where politicians can't just declare themselves to be the winner of elections.
Remember the posts about them getting 12% and the local elections being the same as the GE? What rubbish that all was.
Will be absolute sickening if we see Hutch getting elected.
A **** mobster and druggy. Should be in jail rather than getting elected.
True, but if they come third after 14 years of Fine Gael in government, what does that say?
To me it says the real problem for the change narrative came in last nights exit poll where north of 60% of respondents were either the same or better off than they were 5 years ago isn’t it
FF about A 2/1 fav now the excitement of the shock is off the cards it seems
So that would be 84 seats between FF and FG if that comes to pass. So three party government because labour and the Soc Dems look like they’ll have a good day.
Bookies swinging wildly as the tallies come in
Sickening we haven't had the balls to give FFG the boot. More of the same. People deserve what they get.
He won't transfers will be non existent for him
It will not be FF+SF this time and for next time out it will be interesting to see the demographics from this election.
SF get a strong vote from the 25-35 age group and 47% of SF voters identified as housing as their main reason for voting for them. If they number of houses promised are fulfilled, where will those voters go next time. It will be interesting to see how the 18-25 age group goes this time as they will be the cohort moving into house demand next time around.
It will probably ‘say’ multiple different things to different people. If you want to ignore where parties were at at the start of the campaign and talk of polls a year ago, you can probably say whatever you want. Fact is, given some anti-factual theories ranted about here it has been a good day for SF. Have proven themselves correct not to have chased the far-right vote. Got candidate selection right, improved their transfer rate, and have a platform to grow again
50 FF 40 FF.

FF FG may have the numbers without the need for a 3rd party. Although its highly likely they would bring a number of indos on board if the numbers fall that way.
There aren't even the candidates out there to actually give them the boot
Interesting that Adrian Kavanagh is predicting Fine Gael to be ahead of Sinn Féin on seats, albeit marginally so.
Professor of politics on the election channel called it 46 ff 39 fg and maybe 40 sf couldnt hear him right
Aye,he’d have got number ones for the crack (pardon the pun) but not too many 2’s or 3’s for the crack
Alot of the likes of stensons 2s will head to hutch.
It'll be close
Independents propping up the government is a disaster
I mistakenly thought you were referring to the current population of pensioners
Social issues is one thing, but when you have a house, a job, a family, start paying taxes, you dont want that much change. You dont vote for radicals.
Violet-Anne Wynne polling 0.5% is something else. There's probably been candidates who died before election day who've polled better than that.
