I think it will be FF/FG again with god knows who. Hopefully a left wing party
It will be November 15th
Dub Fingal E 3 seats 100% tallied
Darragh O'Brien FF 23.5%
Duncan Smith Lab 14.7%
Graves SF 14.5%
Possible FG loss
I really hope Farrell (FG) loses his seat. He is a proven liar and tried to con tourists with an insurance claim a few years ago. The judge called him out on it too.
Why do FG and FF run incumbents that have no honour? Same as Troy (FF)
Only if your vote is part of the surplus
If a candidate gets in on 2nd or subsequent counts, only the surplus is counted to look at next preferences.
They only count all votes if the candidate gets through on 1st count, or they are eliminated.
Most votes stop taking effect beyond 1st or 2nd prefs
It's pretty simple really
Indeed you can read it like that, I suppose the fact they are still massively disadvantaged communities as you say 40 years post Gregory Deal, is why some people will vote for someone like Hutch.
I suspect 'those people' are indifferent to yours or anyone else's sympathy.
I don't agree with people voting for him but I can understand it.
If your vote got some elected it had an effect
If it's in the surplus it's allocated by ratio
Your original post made no sense
Has Hutch said what he will do as a TD? Will he turn up for votes and stuff?
Woerk for de commmuntitee
You mean a lot of voters would like to see us become a narco-state?
But how do they select who's vote is counted in the surplus for transfer? Seems awfully unfair that someone who gets lots of 2nd/3rd can pip someone who got way more first preferences.
No wonder FGFF will be in power for the next 100 years too
Nó, if anything allows more random candidates to get in, other systems favour the big parties
Its unfair to just go on first preference
I know you have a rfkjnr level of understanding
All votes count
That's some leap!
..
Clare Daly out on the first count is just beautiful and looks like Mick Wallace will be close behind.
There is a lot left out of that
Mica is a party - 100% redress. May be in the running for last seat.
On the Mica issue it is huge in Donegal - but most votes for SF as SF were claiming they would deliver 100% redress. So most voting 1,2,3 SF instead of for the Mica candidate. Will be very transfer friendly you'd think.
FF a bit worried about seat 2, pat the cope should be in, mcconalogue has done very poor in his heartland inishowen and has a lot to make up elsewhere in the county.
Thomas Pringle independent has a strong vote and is incumbent, other in the mix is SFs 3rd Noel Jordan who may pick up last seat either.
Mcconalogue, Jordan and Ward (Mica man) fighting for seat 5 really
It's not unfair, it's actually one of the fairest and most democratic voting systems there is. The only people who claim what you have are those who don't like the result or don't understand how it works.
The system is fair, it's just often misunderstood.
It means she probably won’t bother to show her face at the count centre - so we miss out on the hissy fit where she blames everyone else for her failure (yet again)
Talking to yourself there 🤣
Cathal 'NATO' Berry struggling so far in Kildare South, hopefully that continues!
Don't be getting stroppy now because once again the "sheeple" don't agree with you and the silent majority are still saying nothing 🤣
No idea, paid him little heed.
He said ironically he would be pushing for more gardai on the streets
Miriam o Callaghan and Sharon Ni Bheolin on RTE are over shattering the smug scale. I’d forgotten the weird way Sharon talks.
Looks like Donnelly is in serious trouble based on tallys in him area. One box was 12 first preference out of 360 votes.
Please yes 🤞
I was surprised with the exit poll having Fianna Fáil (marginally) in third place, but looking at the tallies I think the exit poll is under representing their actual vote by possibly up to 3%. They will have more seats than SF and I think it will be more than a handful.
SF vote down a lot in many areas, but should still retain seats given the weirdness of the vote in 2020.
Some SF supporters, like @FrancieBrady may be relieved but considering they were polling at high 30's at one point, surely they must be disappointed.
Ireland seems to be bucking the international trend where FF and FG are to be in the next government.
If SF were right about Ireland being messed up, why aren't SF romping home to a big election win??
MLMD has 19% she needs 20% +a vote to get elected so her transfers are second preferences from esewhere. O Donoghue a d Ga non will hover up transfers to get elected and neither will have a surplus.
Hourigan will transfer strongly to Sherlock as Fitzpatrick. I think it will be MLMD, PD Gannon and Sherlock if th tallies are correct
