I think it will be FF/FG again with god knows who. Hopefully a left wing party
It will be November 15th
Not a betting man but reckon you are spot on
I work shifts, I'm here at all.different times of the day and week. One canvasser called to me.
Plenty of leaflets thrown in the door, no knocks though
Alittle teaser from IEP
Has fine gael ever had a good campaign? This is another poor one for them. Harris should have gone early as was being suggested, the longer he waited the less of a shine was on him.
Apart from FG's poor campaign, I can't say that any of the other parties did much of anything really on the very good or very bad side. Peadar Toibin has been very visible and is a strong speaker, but I can't see that giving them any extra seats.
Greens, Labour and Soc Dems have been surprisingly quiet too. I know Soc Dems had the unfortunate timing of Holly Cairns' due date, but you would have thought they'd be making some case themselves.
Even the far right loony bins have been fairly quiet.
All in all, an interesting if calm campaign.
Voting tomorrow and then roll on the count.
I wonder where he’s getting these forecasts from? I hope he’s bang on about the greens being wiped out, but Labour to get 11 seats? I certainly hope he’s wrong there.
You would have to be very silly not to predict FFG and independents. I think FFG have played voters(and the greens) like a fiddle which is par for the course in this **** country. Say goodbye to your youth again ireland.
When you study each constituency, the result is likely 90-92 for FF and FG combined.
I reckon independents will not do as well as last time and SF will be under 30 seats.
Mlmd will then most likely resign.
They are his own forecasts based on his 40 years involved in politics.
If his prediction is correct, Michael Martin can expect to be Taoiseach for the next 5 years.
FFG closer to 80 than 90 IMO.
If they have a bad day on transfers for the final seats, that's a possibility. However the trend is definitely in FF favour and FG have recovered from the hiccup last week, so it's more likely to be close to 90.
SF have not done particularly well and unlikely to be over,30
From just speaking to people the general consensus is it's time for change.
That means voting away from FFG.
Now that MM is 'poised' to be the next Taoiseach the electorate may well pull the rug from under him.
We will know a lot more this time tomorrow.
MM wouldn't really be change and sadly the opinion polls have a different outlook to yourself. All we can do is our civic duty and cast our votes tomorrow but it doesn't look good for anybody hoping for change
So a politician is tired and worn out and gets blamed for one episode. Odd
I don't see the polls giving FFG 90-92 though which is what I am referring to.
I wouldn't wipe my backside with the journal if it was in print. Absolute rag
So my prediction FWIW
FF 45
SF 37
FG 35
Lab 10
SD 6
PBP 7
Ind Ire 6
Aontu 3
Green 2
Others (Independent) 23
Well Newstalk has picked it up so read it there.
I boycotted Newstalk a few years ago when they had Politicians presenting for two days. Haven't tuned in since, shame as I really liked that station
Did they cave in? 😁
If by cave in you mean the presenter couldn't wait 5 minutes to mention his own party, yes. Pathetic
No, did the ‘boycott’ work. I presume it had a purpose or do you just do them for lols?
Perhaps I am the only one boycotting. Do you think people should not follow their principles? Do you think it is acceptable for a politician to host their own radio programme?
Doesn’t particularly bother me. I have my own mind and a remote.
Well I don't have a remote for my radio but I switched channel & never switched back. The presenter was basically canvassing.
If I never went back after switching away from a radio station I would be listening to silence.
Sorry I don’t understand that statement
I switch if I don’t like something and go back for stuff I do.
Save me boycotts for things that are important
I believe politicians not having their own radio programme is very important
Don’t listen then. Good night
See post #2959. Goodnight
