Anybody know what is under construction opposite the Trappers Inn - is it just an extension to one of the factory's in Mervue Industrial Estate or is a Commercial unit on the Tuam Road
Did the Fast Fit tyre centre in Liosbán (just beyond the multi storey car pound) close completely or just move somewhere else?
I refuse to click on anything associated with that online rag but I'm guessing a headline along the lines of "Samaritans on standby as Galwegians devastated by shock closure of beloved and iconic Galway institution!!"
Must be true, GalwayBeo is reporting it.
Goyas closing at the end of the month. They've been informing regulars.
I was surprised to see that the PoppySeed in Oranmore has closed. Parking was difficult nearby but they made lovely sandwiches.

Sry - my bad ….
I'm not for a second denying how challenging it is to run a restaurant profitably and I am really sorry to see it go, but I just don't think there was the demand for Éan in Galway city. Their sister bakery - Magpie - absolutely. But if I had to go to a high-end restaurant Rúibín beats it all ends up. Still, the government does need to make it easier for them to survive in general. Fine Gael especially need to be encouraging, not stymying, entrepreneurship especially in a tourist city like Galway.
They are still there. As well as 2K gifts.
Most places at street level are tenanted too: Carraig Donne, Hugmie, Timpson, NameIt, Art and Hobby - maybe more that I've forgotten.
Sure isn't the underwear shop, the die cast model shop and at least one other if not two still there (a furniture place and something else). It gets very little footfall due to the nature of the layout and natural flow of people so that's why places never hang around long unless they've a stronger business model.
The rent on the Corbett court side of Eyre Square centre must be horrendous or something. In for a spot of shopping yesterday evening and I think the whole lower section around the escalator is empty and only maybe 3 shops left on street level.

Interesting that they take a jab at FF/FG candidates being reelected: as if the economy would have been more business-friendly if SF or Labour were elected!
Get to Specsavers.
Its there as their most recent (last?) post
Rly ?? Not according their own Instagram page 🤷♂️

Éan have announced their permanent closure as of last Sunday evening, as per an Instagram post.
Pizza Amore closed down 2 days ago according to their FB page. They said they tried their best to make it work.
I feel like it is a particularly tough market for Pizza given the competition.
Removed as there does not appear to be any truth to it, not fair to the business in question..

I used it a couple of weeks ago. It's handy but they exclude some products from delivery using this method without any discernible logic. They wouldn't let me order kitchen bins, although maybe that's down to the volume to price ratio not making it worthwhile having them take up space in the van. But they also wouldn't let me order a particular rug, even though they had similar rugs ready for collection from other customers when I picked up my delivery.
Ikea.ie now have a c&c in Tesco Oranmore. Free if >€200, otherwise €15
Right in Warehouse's pocket. Maybe we should set up an MMA league to determine which of them is the best.
another gym
They are bordering each other, might be a good fit but depends on the way its done. Presume the Developers of Pool will want to add retail as well to their Site?
