The Hyundai INSTER sub-compact EV with 355km range will be officially released later this month. It was teased today and based on the CASPER ICE model available in some markets. Thoughts?
All 4 seats fold flat, confirmed in the “Design” section:
The sooner the general public realise that feeling great about small deposit and low monthlies only leads you to have zero or negative equity the better.
I don't think anyone should go in to a PCP with 10%, let's be honest lots of people choose PCP over HP because they can't afford HP monthlies.
Id put in 5000 deposit plus 250 a month on this car will leave balloon of about 6000 with the hope it was worth 10 to 11kk and you still have your 5k equity to go again or find 6k to buy it out. When you have no options at end of PCP you are at their mercy
Dealer in Galway wants 20995 and 23995 for the 2 versions, respectively.
And finance is 5%, compared to 2% (1.99) for most other Hyundais.

Try Sheils in Ennis. Their advert says 19,945 OTR

Hyundai have a list of dates for a "roadshow" where they'll have an Inster in dealers around the country for one day each. From speaking to one salesman it's apt to be a LHD model so no scope for test drives yet, but handy for those looking to eyeball.
Saw it in Hyundai Dundrum today - it was a RHD launch edition and I ended up putting a deposit down for March delivery! Normally I wouldn't be a fan of light interiors but it looks so much better than the black one at the Nevo show last week. Pity the only paint choice is buttercream yellow though. I'll be spending most of time inside the car so I'll learn to live with it. Still can't belive it's cheaper than in the UK which must be a first.
Good luck with it.
I think the difference with the UK is basically the grant.
What price did they quote including delivery? Any pictures?
No pictures as looks like it does online. Very comfortable, great headroom and the fact that rear seats can slide back means it's very spacious in the back. Price was €23,540 - didn't seem to be any wiggle room as demand is high - there were lots of people at the garage putting down deposits. Having looked at the competetion at the Nevo show to my mind it's the best small electric car on the market at the moment. Also 5 year unlimited milage warranty and 8yrs on the battery.
there were lots of people at the garage putting down deposits.
Going to be interesting to see what the numbers look like next year.
Attractive price with plenty of space inside for the size of the car will mean it's very popular.
could you tell us the breakdown of monthly on pcp and APR%
What did your last servant die of?
Did they not have the full set of colours listed on the website - silver, green, blue, orange?
The launch edition only comes in buttercream.
What's special about the launch edition? The other editions are available, right?
Yes they are.

As far as I can tell just the light interior versus the Elegance and the fact that buttermilk yellow is the only paint option. Might consider a wrap!
Forgive a dumb question, but what is the 360 camera on the front for? Can this feed be recorded?
Not sure what you're referring to. Have you a link?
Sorry, should have been clearer. It's mentioned about 30s into this video.
I'm pretty sure it's only engaged when parking.
Seems like an awful waste of a good camera…
It's part of a four camera system to help with parking and reversing. One each under the side mirrors and another at the back. This is pretty standard now on cars, been around for years on some makes and models. This is what it looks like on another Hyundai model.
That's a decent price, was a small bit far for me to travel. I ordered 42kwh model last Friday, €20900 OTR with a €500 service voucher included. For anyone else interested in ordering, I contacted six dealers in total around the South East and got the following prices; €20925, 21030, 21000, 21370, 21545.
I’m 99% certain the surround camera isn’t in the Irish spec, just the reverse camera
we have it on our MG, it's handy for parking but yeah it seems a wasted opportunity that you can't record the feeds onto a usb stick.
It's mentioned in the UK spec;
https://www.hyundai.news/uk/articles/stories/hyundai-smart-sense-safety-in-the-all-new-inster.html
To help you avoid collisions with unpredictable obstacles, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) 1.5 applies automatic braking. Utilising radar and the front camera, the system scans the road ahead and alerts you to slowing or stopped vehicles, cyclists, or pedestrians, even when crossing at an intersection. If you do not react in time and there is a risk of colliding with an oncoming vehicle, FCA 1.5 automatically applies full braking power.
Thanks, I'm obviously well out of touch with car tech in general. Did you mean to share a different link though?
I didn't share a link.
Yeah, looked through the spec and no mention of it. That's the second difference to the UK, they get the sunroof as well.
