Put it up for sale immediately. When selling privately you have have to accept the nuisances around nicer for a week or 2 in order to off set the better sale price over trade in.

It's going to be hard to time the sale. The window that Tesla give you is likely to be pushed out a few times. Until you get a collection date, you can't be certain
If it’s pushed out further, you’ll get the benefit of a 251 plate though. I’d sell the Karoq as soon as you can. Hire a car for a few weeks if you have to or buy a banger to tide you over. It’s a pain but that’s Tesla trade in for you.
my Est. Delivery date has changed from February to this month.
If you don't want a 242 can you say to them it's too short notice as you are out of the country? I know it'll mean the car gets reallocated to the next person on the list but it would bug me no end if I received a 242 this close to the new year.
I will have too as I still need to sale my own car. The date only changed today so I will see what happens.
I would not sell your car until firm delivery date, for both my Tesla pick ups I waited until a week before then priced and presented well and both times held onto my current car until pickup day (just in case). A well priced and presented car will always sell.

I’m going to email Tesla and see if they have any information on delivery’s and see will it be this month.

Hi guys, We recently visited Tesla to inquire about purchasing a Model 3. During our visit, we were informed that selecting a "pre-configured vehicle" would enable us to receive the car before the end of the year. However, they clarified that they would not be able to delay the registration of the car to 2025; the vehicle would instead be registered as a 2024-2 model.
To secure the vehicle, we placed a reservation by paying €250 but have not made the full payment yet.
Could you advise on how realistic it is that we would receive the car before the new year if we proceed with the full payment.
Highly likely. Tesla focuses on as many deliveries before quarter end as possible hence you get a concentration of deliveries in March, June, September and December.
Usually people wait until being offered a firm delivery appointment (not estimated) before making final payment. Whether you make the payment now or not does not impact being offered a delivery appointment. If you have a VIN it is a good indicator that a specific car has been matched to you. Car will be registered when delivery is made and wont be delayed.

Tesla just confirmed my order won’t be delivered this month which suits me fine. I can stop checking the app now.
And same again forme! They’ve made a drama where they needn’t have: February to December to now sometime in 2025…. They can’t not know what’s being shipped here so I wonder if they were expecting refusals?
Tesla often make offers they know they cannot deliver on e.g. pick up before Dec 31st and get free Supercharging. They won't be able to deliver that car but they have an order on the books. They've been at this for years
Just bought, have been on the fence for weeks but pulled the trigger today.

As long as you don’t pay in full, the car won’t be registered. You’d be crazy to register a car this week.
