You're being jerked around with that offer @Diseased toe - go eslewhere. The list price is the list price, it can't be magically inflated to accommodate a trade in.
My thoughts exactly. Hence why I have him 2 garages that were selling them for €44’ish. Even trading in, that price won’t junk to €49k!
They would subtract from the low end (your trade in) rather than add to the top end (their list price). Taking in your car they want the minimum outlay possible.
Yep, gay pride flags for petrol and trans pride for diesel
It'll be worth it to see all the right wing climate change deniers being forced to cycle or use public transport 😂
One is that diesel Tesla that Rich Rebuilds made a while back
One will also be mine
Did you miss the bit about not knowing the make of car? 🤣
This is my first winter with an EV. The difference in efficiency between this week and even 2 or 3 weeks ago has been crazy to see!
I'm not on the edge of any limits with my commute to work so am not worried about it, but just driving as normal speed wise, using the AC/heat to what is comfortable while driving and then this week turning on the climate control before getting into the car (which I wouldn't normally do) my mostly motorway commute has gone from ~16Kw/100km to ~19/20 Kw/100KM During the summer my commute was using roughly 20% of the battery each way, so you could easily make two round trips (4 journeys). This week Im using closer to 30% each way so you would only make 1 and a half trips (3 journeys) I know it would be possible to mitigate it a bit by preheating the car while its plugged in etc, but I have access to a charger at work and at home so range wise there is no problem. Just thought it was interesting that you definitely don't want to be cutting it too tight with the range of the car versus your typical commute
Same here. Have noticed around a 20% increase in power usage. Like you, preheating the car without being plugged in can eat up to 2% of the battery depending on how long it's on before I leave.
Anyway, it is what it is, I'm not going to start putting on extra layers, leaving the heat off and driving at 60kph to save a few pence. 🤣
You newbies will soon realise not to stress over it. Treat it like any other car. Enjoy.
It's never the range loss that surprises me, it's the reduced regen power from the cold battery, that little moment of asking yourself why my car is not slowing down as much as usual.
That's it, or when you hop into one of the other cars and let off and the first second where your heart sinks because you're not slowing down!
A heatpump would help but it’s still an expensive option on many EV’s. Hard to justify the cost over a handful of really cold days in winter here. I’m sure ICE cars are also slightly less efficient in cold weather. It’s not as noticeable if you’ve a full tank of diesel with 1000Km range showing on the dash.
My car has a heat pump. I'm just not fond of the cold, so I have temp up to 22° or more. 🤣
Also pre-heating the car when it's not connected is a hit on the battery. Doesn't bother me, I knew all this when I started. Last winter wasn't as cold as early, so it's a bit different this year.
Yep mine also has a heat pump but I haven't seen what benefit it brings! I've no idea what settings I should use on the heater
It is the heater, just more efficient. Probably need to reset your idea of what a comfortable temp is inn the car. I have mine at 22°. Could even go higher this weather.
I have an eco option in the heater settings but it doesn't seem to get very warm. When I use the normal heater setting the onboard efficiency app tells me the climate consumption is high.
Heat pumps are basically a more efficient way to generate heat. Rather than using power to heat up the air through passing charge through wires, for example, it's like a reverse fridge. Air is drawn in, compressed and the resulting heat from the condenser is used to warm the area. It uses a lot less power.
Had my first experience of 22° this morning. It was very nice indeed 😁
Question though. It seems to be just the last temp you had set in the car, I can't see anyway to change the temp in the app. is there?
Think 22 is the default temp and can't be changed
Is this for preheating the car? That's set at 22°, can't be changed.
Ah well, still a vast improvement on what I've had till now !!
Something doesn’t read right with that posters comments.
Go on…
Yeah, warm enough for me anyway. Ten minutes is usually enough, even though it runs for 30.
What car is that?
I just said it on the Cupra Born thread, big jump this week in consumption, I normally use about 35 KW a week, 63 this week and I've gone nowhere, stupid heating timer didn't turn on this morning either, car was covered in ice😡. Ah well Bert will warm things up anyway 💨
Polestar 2
Why need to go higher in colder weather? 22 degrees is 22 degrees irrespective of ambient temp I would have thought. For me its 20 degrees all year around or down to 18 if feeling a bit tired on a longer journey. 22 degrees is sofa an TV temp for me😴
Id be using it on LO in the summer, 16 seems to the the lowest setting I go below that again . Cold winter days id often use 22.5
