Sorry Maidhc, more nonsense, the etron starts at 90k, double the starting price of a rav 4, its 30cm longer (https://www.carsized.com/en/cars/compare/toyota-rav4-2019-suv-swb-vs-audi-e-tron-2018-suv/). You havent a clue what you are talking about which is no surprise. Carry on. The conversation started because you made another ill informed comment that i called you out on, you have brought us down this particular rabbit hole.
I'm looking at fitting new tyres on our Ioniq 38 and am thinking of going with michelin cross climates as we've used them before on other cars and thought they were very good. I'm a bit confused of the different options available in the required size - 205/60R16 92H - 205/60R16 96H XL - 205/60R16 96V XLAre the three options Michelin suggest (and 205/60R16 is what is expected), but im not sure which of the 3 i should be looking for. The XL is described on the website as Extra load, "Reinforced tyres are designed for vehicles with a high mass, such as SUVs." but I'm not sure if an EV like the ioniq 38 falls under that? On tyreleader there is about €7/8 between the first option and the others so there is no a huge cost difference relative to the overall cost, but I guess no point wasting money if not needed either.
the q6 etron starts at €75? The RAV4 PHEV is €55k?
maybe it’s the q8 you are on about. That’s obviously a bigger car than a RAV, still no luxury motor though!
Should be a sticker somewhere on the car with tyre pressure information. Correct factory tyre size options should be on it also. It’s probably near the door sill of the drivers door.
What exact size are on the existing tyres?
Yes it is the q8 and i never said it was a luxury motor, i was just pointing out the nonsense of calling a 90k+ car a modest car for ordinary people, as i said it would be better if you just came out and said whatever you are trying to imply rather than trying to be clever as its not working for you.
And the rav 4 starts at 45k, no point picking the base version of one model (the q6 in that case) and the top of the line for another for your comparison it would come across as disingenuous.
Regular Cross Climates for an Ioniq 38 definitely, not need for the XL version at all 👍️
Good choice for any car in the Irish climate. Quiet and decent wear too, and not crazy money compared to some models from other brands that are less useful.
but the phev is 10k more, and is a closer match to the q6, that’s all.
yes, I agree a 90k car is better than “modest”, and yes I agree that it’s unlikely a RAV4 buyer would be comparing a q8, but would a q5 or q6.
This thread is like having a conversation in a pub while a couple are arguing loudly nearby 😂
Should be renamed Random EV fights…
i'm not on many forums on boards, but this one must be the cattiest, most oneuppery one of the lot
can be very entertaining.
It's a hub of robust debate, which can also provide some excellent entertainment 😁
I think it’s harmless fun. I assume none of us are taking things that seriously… I hope!
It looks serious, ye both seem to have “cleared the work diary” and dedicated most of yer day to it!
Ha no, it's more that there was a.... robust discussion going on and a bunch of other posters very much talking about other things
It was a good laugh to read through 😂
slight over exaggeration there, anyway we got there in the end 😃
pints on me, any time!
For sure the new one is a lot of car for that money, despite price drops elsewhere 36k for the 231bhp Born with 0% finance finance is great going. Obviously the downer would be if you had to simply sell your current car and not trade up (for whatever reason) as the loss in your current one over two years would be a tough pill.
Yes I think the Born is currently great value for money compared to other EVS. - also against an equivalent ICE car. The additional 3.5k offer has been extended for now to the end of the year - food for thought for anyone in the market for a very good EV. (IMO)
Yup, inside the drivers door 205/60R16 92H so that confirms it, thanks!
What’s his current crowd?
Same applies to anyone who bought petrol and diesel. Go talk to people reading in used cars. They are being hit with shocking trade in values too.
You done better than some and worse than others. I bought an EV in 2020 and sold it in 2021 for €3k more. Bought another EV for €48k and sold it for €58k 6 months later in 2022. That was the market then. In saying that, Toyota are always good to deal with. They will always up the trade price to shift new stock and the trade in will sit there for months on end.
It’s gona take kanyouseeme a week or two to get over that.
A big used car dealer owned by the BMW guys.. :D
So he was a bmw dealer and now he’s in another bmw dealer that doesn’t take EV trade ins?
Maybe you can clarify your original post?
His current crowd won’t take EV trade ins, is that correct?
I agree. I think I have lost about 10/15k on my Camry if I were to sell it now after 18 mths and 35kms, and it’s obviously just a pure hybrid.
What he said was both of them wont take EV trade-ins, but they had a few Renault Zoe's and maybe 1 Audi E-Tron. They had the guts of 1,000 cars on the lot so a big enough dealer.
It will be treated like an L plate by other drivers .
Fair play to you but if someone didn't realise a Model 3 was an EV I'm struggling to think how a little green strip on the number plate will help.
