I think it will be FF/FG again with god knows who. Hopefully a left wing party
It will be November 15th
I do, and I'm not convinced he is immune from some idiocy. Micheal Martin was caught out completely spoofing by his Green partner in government and on affordable homes and was constantly taking credit for 'leading'. Chest thumping it is called. Harris, from the off was awful , nervous, insulting and deeply out of his depth. Media is generally being a bit kinder on his performance but not much.
Out of the 3 " big parties " MM is the least bad but awful. ,then MLM , Harris is as insufferable as varadkar, possibly worse?!
I doubt these debates move the needle too much but Harris was incredibly poor with the snide teacher's pet vibe shining through on multiple occasions. I'm hoping for his sake he doesn't plan on making the ludicrous "mentally stabbed" line a feature of the remainder of the campaign.

I thought Neasa Hourigan and Mary Fitzpatrick did a great job standing up to Malachy Steenson here, particularly Neasa.
Regardless of your views on immigration or any other political issue, I'm not sure how anyone would vote for such a profoundly dislikeable man as Steenson.
The lack of progress on any of these things has very little to do with money to pay for the infrastructure however (at least directly).
She's a decent skin is Neasa Hourigan, i'd like her to retain her seat, although it seems it'll be a dog fight
No reason to think he should is there? While Donnelly does get quite a bit of exposure particularly around US elections on RTE and it's hard to think his wife isn't a factor in getting alot of said exposure, he's hardly a household name? Secondly, given his centre right credentials, he's hardly 'neutral' and it'ss hardly a surprise he'd be talking up Harris and Martin.
Why would anyone assume his neutrality is a good question. Regardless of what he is or who he is, he is at variance which most mainstream media and other viewers last night. Harris was bad and Micheal spoke well on some but was noticeably caught out on others.
RTÉ's election podcast suggested that the 3 party leaders all did well. Twitter was useless to check, each party claimed their leader was the best (as it ever was).
I didn't bother watching last night, but it does seem from a general sense that Peadar Toibín was the best speaker, the 3 main party leaders did well, the other smaller parties struggled to get their point across. RBB was quiet at start but came into it later.
Anybody who claims otherwise has proven track record (like yourself @FrancieBrady of being a strong supporter of a specific party).
I've not even heard FG people say Harris done well. He was giving critism on morning ireland over his performance.
Il add Mary Lou wasn't half as good as during the debates in 2020
Micheal Martin was his usual self, nothing spectacular but for all his faults, he's a smart politician who can sidetrack any questions he dosnt want to asw (like why they promised 50,000 affordable homes and built less than 10% of it which Hannon tried to push him on)
Tobin was good but how many TDs will his party have after the election, 5 at push would be a fantastic result for him
RBB same as Tobin and same about how many TDs will they have 5 being a great result
Significantly more chance of 5 SPBP than 5 Aontu - Coppinger is not nailed on but pretty solid; although Murphy isn't guaranteed to keep his.
Peadar would be running out of family members though, if he were to have more than two TDs.
Seems fairly unlikely…
Jesus it would be brilliant to see the back of Paul Murphy.
I'm not aware of any constituency outside of Meath West where Aontu have more than an outside chance. Winning x + 1 seats would require lightning to strike x times for Aontu…
The boundaries re-drawn will have potentially scuppered his chances. Some of his votes are gone over to Dublin mid-west, and the more affluent Terenure & Templeogue brought in

you mean the completely separate body inside your own?
"MSM"
The Trump talking point.
The debate did change my mind a bit. I was on the fence as to whether to vote Aontu but I will be voting for them now as well as FF
For context, the Apple money would cover approximately 6 months of the HSE budget, a lottery win it is not.
SF has put in black and white, that they want to censor RTE.
These lads think they live in Russia or China.

My only prediction is that the greens will get absolutely decimated. All of their policies seem to just inconvenience people.
Green taxes for various different things and what have we gotten in return?
Aragh stop. No fan of SF but RTE objectivity definitely needs a review. Internal and External coverage. They're even more pro FFG after their bailout. FFG refused to do any reform of RTE despite all the revelations. More waste. FFG rewarded waste and corruption. Is Dee Forbes better yet? No one accountable again, what a surprise.
When Harris actually passes the Occupied Territories Bill, he can talk about Gaza and the genocide.
I was talking to a FF canvasser. No green issues are coming up at the doorsteps despite the COP meeting and monster rains in Spain. Zero interest in climate change. Seems kinda odd.
No. No, I don't.
But perhaps you'd like to expand on 'completely separate'?
Mod: Nope - I couldn't care less if @TracyMartell is referring to an embryo, foetus, tapeworm or simply some bacteria - we are not going there at all!!!!!
The Greens got in because they were a "reasonable" alternative to FF/FG. What did the Greens do with that? Increase taxes. They are pretty much-anti car, which in large parts of the country is impossible. Underused bike lanes taking away from road space.
The greens were a good mudguard for FFG, but many of the measures blamed on them were actually nothing to do with the greens. Carbon tax rises were set in stone by previous governments, even if Greens weren't in the carbon tax would still be set to rise.
And it will continue to do so with the next non-green government
That's a blinkered view imo. Don't get me wrong, i want 3 of the current Greens out of the dail sharp and lively but to say the tax increases (any of them) are all on them is wrong
Which taxes did they increase and did the other two parties have no say in the matter?
I don't think the Greens have ever said that everyone should get rid of their cars. What they have been encouraging is for us to become less dependant on them (which is a good thing).
As for underused bike lanes, are you expecting cyclist traffic jams or what? Personally I would rarely use a cycle lane simply because it would slow me down and I lose priority at junctions (and even at private entrances). Nonetheless, it is clear that many people still are wary of cycling due to the risks (actual or percieved) from drivers. A line of paint on the road won't do much to protect a cyclist especially if that driver is glued to their phone!
Increase taxes. They are pretty much-anti car…bike lanes taking away from road space
What exactly were you expecting from the Green Party? Drill Baby Drill?
