I think it will be FF/FG again with god knows who. Hopefully a left wing party
It will be November 15th
Constitutional Convention. The same thing.
You implied it was for exceptionally controversial issues only. Clearly this isn't the case. So do you understand them?
Constitutional Convention was extremely different.
You're scrabbling here. I said that the system is designed to deal with controversial issues - two weekends on more minor stuff is not something that can be used to argue against that, but yet you're still trying.
I'm not wasting my time with you anymore - you don't understand the system and you've made that very, very clear.
I'm not scrambling about anything. You've the hump because I have a different view from yours. And then had to resort to insults because your points didn't make sense.
And me googling about it seemed to particularly annoy you.
I fundmentally disagree with the so called Citizen Assembly and Constitutional Convention. these are adhoc bodies made up of unelected individuals making decisions and reccommendations that is the reserve of Government. Government use them as a cover for making policy decisions. we elect TD's to govern not to not to delegate authority or decision making to quasi unelected selections of individuals
Clare Daly address on her nomination papers is Behan Square, Dublin 1 which was built by Wallace and where one of his restaurants is.

Where is rule on it being the ‘reserve of government’? The ‘government’ set them up.
so silly when people get upset about Citizen Assembly that can and are ignored by gov
SF will win, people are going to vote out the land owner class
It is a very good question, one I asked myself regularly. And not just regarding drug policy.
It is surely what the Dáil committees should be doing.
SF hold more property than any other other political party.
Also object to more new developments.
But if you're a turkey voting for Christmas, go ahead.
I think the other poster was referring to party members as you well know. Of the 29 tds in the dail who are landlords, 37 percent are fianna fail members, 27% are fianna Gael and 6 percent are sinn fein. there is also 9 farmers in the dail all are ff/fg except 2, none are sinn fein. fianna gael always have and always will be the landlord/farmer party, fianna fail are a close second now to say any deifferent is false.
Nice try.
It will be great to get Robert Troy (FF) back in, won't it.
Hildegarde Naughten looking vulnerable in Galway West, Sean Kyne is more likely to win a seat according to PP.
The odds are fluctuating fairly rapidly though, seems all to play for.
I'm not sure the bookies have a clue what's going on in that cons, that has fluctuated wildly in the past week. There seem to be 6 contenders for 3 seats if you take Connolly and Grealish as certs.
I think Mairead Farrell will retain her seat, then no idea about the rest. I think Cluedo is from there and would no better
Bookies odds on constituencies are useless. Tiny markets, a fiver bet distort them.
They become a bit more reliable closer to elections. Trends and surveys will play more of a factor, although i'm not paying much attention to them now but more only as a guidance
…might wanna pre book some therapy sessions there, theres an extremely good chance there never will be a sf lead government, ever in ireland, its gonna ffg, after ffg, after ffg…..
Ivan Yates predicting 2 Ind, 2 FF, 1 FG in GW. Which I really hope is wrong.
That's just silly. Things have been relatively settled and positive since 2014 or so. It doesn't take much for things to drastically change
That's all it is, a prediction. He doesn't know any better than the rest of us
If that's the case there should be some good value to be had there.
I think it'll be 1 FF 1 SF but there's a chance of 0 FF, which would be pretty remarkable. And would make me very proud of Galway 😃
far from, the whole reason for ffg's confidence and supply was ultimately to block the creation of an alternative government, in particular a sf lead one, and its working, and will more than likely work all the way through the 30's, with the opposition filling with all sorts of unthinkables, but our election and voting system regularly defaulting towards ffg governments, this is the most likely outcome over the coming years….
Damn those stupid voters………..
I think it will be the opposite. Naughton should be safe but Kyne will miss out again. Nobody knows where O'Cuiv's votes are going to scatter. The Independent Ireland candidate did very well in local elections and Seoige is an unknown entity. Farrell from SF won the first SF seat here ever (a complete shock in 2020) so her votes could be fluid. I personally hope Fianna Fail don't get any seats. The celebrity politics is a nonsense idea.
The bookies are only covering their money by changing the odds so much. It's one of the most fascinating constituencies in Ireland.
My guess is 2 Independent, 1 Independent Ireland, 1 FG, 1 SF.
Yep, if you're willing to put a bit of graft in, there is value to be had. Every bit of info you need for trends is available online. But listen, your heavily restricted with stake maximums, and you can only bet them in singles which again limits you potentially.
I have had a few quid on 3 over the weekend(biggest bet on Lisa Chambers at 4/6)
…its clearly not just voting outcomes thats creating this situation, but the fact ffg are playing a blocking game, and playing it extremely well, hence their agreement, the only way for this dynamic to be broken is for the whole opposition to come together, but that clearly wont happen, as its now gonna fill with a wide variety of voices, from centrists, far left, far right, and everything in between, so ffg all the way into and through the 30's it ll be be!
He is on this one for sure. FF won't get 2.
Galway has had many SinnFein TDs
and
Well the voters know damn well what to expect this time around, so that can't be an excuse, as much as FF/FG are playing the we don't like each other game.
Part of me is starting to think that SF might outperform current expectations and FF will be the largest party (by about 10)
I hope the SD can get to about 9/10 and build from there.
